Not much to take away from this game, everyone played bad, even Cam. 21-0 in the first quarter, throw everything that happened after that in the garbage.

Also, it's hard to throw the ball well when every replay of our offense shows a lineman or two getting thrown into the backfield.

The tie to Cincy could very well end up giving us the division. I think 3 years ago San Fran had a tie (with Philly?) and ended up getting in as a wildcard seed at like 9-6-1 over some other teams with 9-7 records.

Yeah, we don't win that game regardless, but a few first downs and a score in those first couple drives would have made it a different game. That's all I wanted really, I didn't expect to win this one but I figured the offense would give our defense enough of a break to keep it competitive. The play calling was really bad, especially three handoffs to Stewart and out when we were already down 14-0. By the time we put the offense on Cam's arm, it was too late, and the pass rush kept him from ever getting into a rhythm.

Even with the current state of the division, it's hard to pick the Panthers to win anything right now. I trust the Saints coaching staff to figure things out before Rivera and Shula. We can't defend the run or pass and the offense just isn't good enough to carry this team. Losing is one thing, but the Panthers have gotten blown out 3 times already and given up 37 points or greater in 4/5 games. Bad signs all around.

That's legit. Just keep in mind we had two 3 and out's to start the game and it was 21-0 before we started our 3rd series. Not saying the offense shouldn't have done more right there with those opportunities, but we were never going to be able to dig out of a 3 touchdown deficit. The defense gave the game away before Cam had a chance to do anything about it.

Moving forward, I'm all for Tre Boston getting a greater % of snaps at safety. That Jordy Nelson play was the moment I knew that Harper's career was officially over. I felt embarrassed for the guy.

We cut Charles Godfrey, made a few other roster moves like activate G Chris Scott and bring back Robert Lester to the practice squad. Godfrey had to go, he was pretty much the worst starting DB in the NFL.

We all knew this offseason was as much about dumping bad Hurney contracts as it was about remaining a contender. The move we made to remain a contender was re-sign Greg Hardy for 13.1M. In hindsight, maybe we should have extended Munnerlyn and Mitchell instead, but I still contend those guys aren't worth the money they ended up getting. Gettleman deserves some criticism for thinking DeCoud and Harper could play, but a lot of what's happened to this team was out of his or anyone's hands. There's a reason Bene and Norman were both above Godfrey on the depth chart, it's not like we didn't know he couldn't play, there was no just no one else on the roster.
