The appraisal firm denounced all my points in the email I sent them and then revised the appraisal anyway up to where we wanted it. OK, done with that lender, now I can get a loan with no PMI and nothing down, fixed rate, no points, no prepay fees, no origination fee and it's barely higher than the other rate. I think I'll go with that since the person I talked to was receptive to my concerns and didn't talk to me like I was an idiot. More money in pocket + dealing with good people = win.

I got a call from (what I assume was) a debt collector looking for my deadbeat alter ego again. At least this time they started with the confirmation of SSN digits so I don't have to keep bitching at them to check that part.

This gal's story is kind of weird. She's a year or two younger than me and has the same name, and she's also lived in both North Carolina and Georgia. I got tons of calls and they sent letters to my parents' house (where I never even lived) a few years back, and finally those debts reached the statute of limitations I guess. Hope this isn't the start of round 2.

And nothing has ever shown up on my report because they have her SSN on file, so basically they just call me because they can find me.

my hubsand had similar issues - some dude had been using his ssn for years before B was even of age to have any credit. We had to threaten the credit reporting companies with the possibility of bringing in a lawyer before they would take the issue seriously.

Then again, the issue for him was more of a jacked up credit record than any collectors calling. I'm sure we would have actually tried to see a lawyer about fixing the errors if there were debt collectors hounding him for some stranger's mess.

The credit record is what actually matters though. Them calling me on the phone is just annoying, but since it's not my SSN, it doesn't actually do me any damage. When it's on his credit report, that's way worse than getting calls.

i have had people calling me looking for a barbara farrell since i was 16 years old. when i tell them this isn't her number they continue to press me for more information about how to reach her. a few days ago some guy was just asking me how i could get in contact with her and i almost flipped out on him. i felt kind of bad for being so rude, but not really.

i've tried to find barbara on facebook so i can bitch her out, but no luck
