Vote for our game against ECU to be the game that the Packman brings the Southern Fried Football Tour on during their Wildcard week, which the fans vote on.

Statue designed to send Pack into a 'Fury'
Players can touch icon entering field

Clemson has Howard's Rock.

Maryland has Testudo, a bronze terrapin.

Now N.C. State has an icon for football players to touch as they run out of the tunnel and onto the field.

About two weeks ago, the school placed a new bronze statue of a snarling wolf at the tunnel entrance to Carter-Finley Stadium.

"That's a new addition to the team, I guess," defensive end Willie Young said.

The statue weighs 400 pounds, and the school plans to pay for it with a $100,000 naming rights opportunity being sold by the Wolfpack Club. The statue was made by Dick Idol, the N.C. State alumnus who also constructed the massive, six-wolf sculpture at the front of the Murphy Center football office complex.

Coach Tom O'Brien said that when he was at Boston College, he had an eagle installed to start a tradition of touching something before going onto the field.

O'Brien has named the wolf "Fury."

"We've got a great mascot," O'Brien said. "... We're working toward making the entrance a little better."

If I was a player I would refuse to touch it out of spite. We don't need anything to touch. The wolf is fine but touching something is pretty much spoken for by those who've been doing it for the longest time now. It's cool, leave it there, but it doesn't have to be some new tradition(oxymoron).

Dear bitch wearing the pink shirt, I'm fine with you purchasing a pink NC State shirt. What's not ok is you wearing such pink shirt on gameday. I know you have at least one red shirt. Wear that just like your friend did. You stand out like a sore thumb and it ain't cute. You look like you are there just for the social atmosphere. Have some damn pride in your school and wear some red. Also wearing such pink shirt will make most men automatically label you as one of those dumb girls that don't know shit about football and keep asking people around them "hey what just happened" and saying stupid things like "we should throw the ball here" on a 3rd and short.

Today we profile one of college football's most legendary gridirons in Nebraska's Memorial Stadium. The stadium has seated crowds of up to 85,800, although capacity is listed at 81,067. The stadium holds an ongoing NCAA-record 288 consecutive sellout crowds; this streak began in 1962. When full, Memorial Stadium has the third largest population in the state after Omaha and Lincoln. The field is named after legendary coach Tom Osborne. Memorial Stadium has an odd setup. The East and West sideline stands having decent sized lower bowls and small upper decks. On the West side there is a massive press box structure containing 42 luxury suites. Then there are ridiculously large North and South endzone stands that have been expanded numerous times. The North stands have 13 skyboxes above them and a video board that, standing at 33 feet (10 m) tall and nearly 40 yards (37 m) wide, is the second largest video board in college football after Texas' Godzillatron. The original stands were modeled after Ohio Stadium, and you can see its influence in the structure because there is a rotunda built into the East stands. Outside on the east stands side there is a statue that depicts a real play involving Kansas State from 1995 with a ton of the Nebraska "black shirt" defensive players swarming an opposing player.

asking sorostitutes to be 'original' is just like waaaaay above their maturity level right now....

But, despite the cake makeup and bugeye glasses, they serve as vital tailgate eye candy.

Nebraska's facilities are pretty tits. It's a testament to what a college football crazed fanbase like Nebraska can build.

Ok well I got bored one day when there wasn't much going on in sports, so to liven up the thread I began profiling some of college football's stadiums. I've done a few of them so far. Go back through and see for yourself. Well I decided to do Nebraska yesterday. People began commenting on how nice of a stadium Nebraska had, so I also wanted to show how nice their training facilities were. I think ours are right up there though with some of college football's best. The Murphy Center and Vaughn Towers additions have really been an advantage for us in recruiting. Brian Slay said that our weight room blew him away, and I know that Brandon Barnes was certainly impressed by our facilities.

The famous football sculpture with the names of past coaches, with the current coach's ball in front on the stand.

What time is the actual kickoff you think ?

Probly like 8:10 to 8:15 or so ?

I'm leaving from Charlotte after work and want to have at least a few hours to drink and eat beforehand

I'll probably leave at 3 or 4 anyway

Man we need an indoor practice facility. It's pretty sad when UCF gets an indoor practice facility before we do. I hope when we do get one it's way better than all of the cookie cutter ones that everyone else has. I want it to be revolutionary and the one that everyone begins copying.

man fuck this guy. he thinks Clemson started the tradition of touching something before coming out onto the field and that if any other school touches something before they come out then they are copying Clemson. They didn't even start touching Howard's Rock until 1967.

Well, I don't know who started it but I do think that anyone who is trying to start that NOW like it's some kind of tradition is being pretty unoriginal.

Did they also hire a black dude to tap dance out onto the field and drag the players off once they start to suck, 'cause that's what we really need.
