water cannons officially make CF the toughest stadium to play in. As the team enters the redzone, the water guns will shoot the offense of the opposing team.

1) I agree that the shrubbery needs to come back along the sidelines, especially now that the walls to the stands aren't painted white with the red stripe. The plain grey is just too boring. Since everyone wants to go green, this would increase the amount of oxygen in the air and help the environment, and be our little way of fighting global warming one shrub at a time.
2) Whatever happened to the big movement to get two species of dogs that looked like wolves as live mascots (you can't have just one wolf when you are supposed to be a pack)? Wasn't BigEgo the one behind this? 6/24/2009 5:49:48 PM |

You expect it every year. It's once again that time for the annual "wtf is with Oregon's uniforms" discussion.
http://www.nikeblog.com/2009/06/23/new-oregon-ducks-football-uniforms/
Quote : | "University of Oregon unveiled the new Oregon football uniforms for 2009 today. A quick rundown shows four helmets: green, white, matte black and “steel,” a silver, carbon-dipped helmet. Four jerseys with silver wings on the shoulder pads—green, white, yellow and black—as well as a white jersey with green wings. And finally four pairs of pants: green, black, silver and white.
Global creative director for Nike apparel Todd Van Horne was on hand at the university to show the advancements made with the new Oregon Ducks uniforms. They include, among other things: Nike Pro Combat–uniforms are “locked down and battle-ready” Laminated Numbers, not tackle twill. They will not absorb moisture, keeping the jerseys light Laminate anti-abrasion shoulder reinforcement in the form of wings, rather than last season’s diamond plating Zoned non-critical areas to lighten the whole uniform Titanium D-Rings on belt rather than steel
All in all, the new uniforms are 25% lighter and have a more “shrink-wrapped fit.” The jerseys alone have been reduced from 7.46 ounces to 5.5. And of course, in keeping with past years, the Oregon Ducks players had a great deal of input on what would and would not go into the 2009’s new Oregon Ducks football uniforms. All in all, the players will have 80 different uniform combinations to choose from each Saturday.
This is just reaffirming why I love the UO. How sick is that all silver combination? Dope stuff. And for those that say that Oregon is only about the uniforms, Coach Chip Kelly mentioned that they did win 10 games last year and if you think it’s just about the clothes, wait until Saturdays in the fall.
Apologies for the picture quality, I’m not in Eugene so I had to pull these from the live stream. Oh and a quick note: the first couple of pictures are Oregon football uniforms “through the years.” And I will of course update if the UO releases hi-res pictures." |

Hey everyone ESPN's College Football Live is profiling all 50 states. Well everyone go off and vote for the non-BC selections just to piss off all of those idiots at BC. How come TOB wasn't listed under best coaches? Dude rose that team built that team up out of scandal and turned them into a pretty solid program.

Russell Wilson is #3 on HD's list of best players in the ACC:
Quote : | "No. 3. Russell Wilson, QB, NC State, RS-Soph., 5-11, 208
Why he's here: He's one of the most accurate passers in the country, and he made NC State an entirely different team when he was healthy enough to play. Wilson has thrown 249 straight passes without an interception, the longest streak in school history and the longest active streak in the nation. He threw fewer interceptions than any of the top 100 passers in the nation last year. For the season, Wilson had just one interception in 275 attempts, and it was a desperation heave against Clemson.
Wilson led the ACC in passing efficiency (133.9), touchdown passes (17) and total offense (213.0). He ranked sixth in the ACC in passing yards per game (177.7). The question is how much better he'll be in 2009. Wilson hasn't been around much for seven-on-sevens this summer because he's playing baseball in Gastonia, and he spent part of the spring playing baseball for the Wolfpack. While he's been gone, Mike Glennon has been looking rather Matt Ryan-esque, according to a few receivers. Wilson needs to find the open receivers this fall and not put himself in harm's way to get the yards with his feet that he could be earning with his arm." |

My top 8 prediction was way off, but looks like I got the top 3 down. Pleasantly surprised she left Marvin Austin off the list. Really surprised she left Wujack off though, considering she used to cover UMD. 6/25/2009 4:51:23 PM |

I thought Russell's INT was just a bad throw in the 2nd or 3rd quarter, not the desperation heave at the end of the game.
edit: ok, 4th quarter, Russell tried to throw it deep and it floated on him a little bit. Beck had the desperation heave picked off in the end.

^4, speaking of Austin. Has there been a bigger disappointment than the #1 player in the Nation (by a few scouting services) going to the PineTrees and getting lost in the frazzle. He's big and fast, but he can't hold Alan Michael Cash's jock strap.
maybe john blake should coach instead of passing out walking-around money to recruits.
this is where we need well-placed media sources who write and blog and talk about this stuff, so that 5* recruits just cross PineHole off their lists.

Wow I just read through all of the comments in the Dinich blog naming Russell Wilson the #3 overall player in the ACC. There are some dumbasses on there. It's very clear that many of them didn't even watch Wilson play, especially toward the end of the year. I mean seriously how can you argue with a 17:1 TD:INT ratio? That's insane! There are idiots on their talking about how Tyrod Taylor should be on there (this being a guy with an incredible 2:7 TD:INT ratio last year ), and that Christian Ponder (14:13 TD last year) is better just b/c he led his team to a winning record and Wilson did not. Seriously can we just have some omnipresent beings that go around and smack people when they do or say incredibly stupid things. I would say just kill them, but that may be a little much. 6/25/2009 11:15:44 PM |

Austin is a possible 1st rounder and definite 2nd rounder in either 2010 or 2011. Projecting a DT's draft stock solely by numbers, especially from his sophomore season, shows a lack of understanding about the DT position and the game in general. Austin has great strength and athleticism, often occupies two O-linemen, and his potential is tremendous. He has really dedicated himself to the S&C program this off-season and I expect him to get a lot of attention from pro scouts this season.
I'd be happy to take money from anyone who disagrees. 6/26/2009 1:19:21 AM |
GenghisJohn bonafide 10252 Posts user info edit post |
yeah, sure he can be a first rounder, there are plenty of dumbfucks running teams. shit, Kentwan Balmer got drafted in the first.
but theres no way in hell Austin goes #1 overall. that's just ludicrous.

Most of the time I've seen UNC fans use the term "wal-mart fans", they've been meaning something along the lines of "your fans are the sort of people who stereotypically shop at wal-mart"... that is, white trash and creepy-looking.
They seemed oblivious to the actual meaning. 6/26/2009 9:33:07 AM |
