TWC bless them and their speeds, but seriously they need know what they are talking about.

Me: I'd like the 30/5 package
Rep: Okay our modem we use has built in wireless and a router.
Me: I won't need that so I'll have the tech turn off the wireless and enable bridge mode.
Rep: I'm sorry you can't do that with our routers.
Me: I'm sorry what was that?
Rep: Our routers don't do that.
Me:.....Um okay. Sure Friday will be fine for the tech to come out. Thanks for the help

So Greensboro people how's life treating you?

Hey, has anyone been to Cafe Pasta? Going there for the second time with a few friends to celebrate a friends birthday. Last time we went it was pretty good, great ambiance, good service. There was a live band that set the pretty well, wasn't obnoxiously loud and the singer was pretty decent. Hope it's as good today as it was last time (about 6 months ago)

Have you tried the local banks and Lincoln Financial Group might have some open positions.

As far as accounting firms, there's a bunch of small one and two person types of operations. I'm not sure about anything larger.

Why don't you just go on Craigslist and tell people you'll do their accounting stuff for a fee. Problem solved.

Have any of you been to the PoterHouse Bar and Grill?

http://www.theporterhousebarandgrill.com/

The wife and I went there a week or so ago and the food was pretty good. I made the mistake of liking them on facebook and now each day their special or burger of the day keeps popping up and making me hungry.

Any idea what happened at the Martin Luther Blvd overpass of Lee Street? About a dozen cop cars at the bridge and under, both roads blocked, and several EMS. News just said "police activity."

I have not seen this. Is it amusing? Are they the same militant religious guys that come on public access some times? Are they out there morning, afternoon, evening or nights?

FLOODING LIKE WHOA!

W. Wendover PWNT, stay home. I heard that all 4 lanes of 40W near Guilford College RD were closed at one point last night because they were under water.

Some areas of Greensboro got 5 inches of rain in 2 hours.

Wow...blast from the past. Went to Cafe Pasta before my senior prom in 1998. It was really good then, but I haven't been to State Street since so I didn't know it still existed.

Rain last night was the hardest I've seen since the summer '09 monsoon. Coworker who lives in Summerfield says they didn't get a drop.

I see them almost every Saturday on Elm Street, shouting and mean mugging by the hot dog cart.

^ we only got about 2 inches in Whitsett, but the storms were strong as shit. Knocked out my internet, but oddly enough not even a blip on the DirecTV

And speaking of TV, Channel 12 PWNT by Time Warner.

I like MCoul's if you're in a tater tot mood (downtown). Or US Sushi in Friendly if you want hibachi (I love this place). Yum Yums for a good hotdog and icecream. Pastabilities if you want italian.

dang pastabilities is still around? that place was OK. pasta and sauce, nothing special.

i, too, am a fan of m'coul's. by the way - what ever happened to that place ritchie's uptown that used to be near m'couls? probably by far one of my favorite spots in greensboro.

Yep, Pastabilities has been there forever. I like the build your own option personally. It's good, cheap, Italian. I tried to keep all of my suggestions on the reasonably priced side of things. There aren't many great Italian places in Greensboro. I like Positanos too though, that's not bad.

Every Elizabeth's is owned/managed by a different relative in that family. Some are better than others. In my experience, the one on Battleground is the best.

I'll also vote for the BG Elizabeth's...lots of good memories there, and the rotisserie chicken was always awesome.

However, there's also one out on Oak Ridge that's pretty damn good.

Downtown driving PSA:

Nearly every morning, turning left onto Friendly from Davie, the fellow motorist in the left turning lane (represented below by the green line) crosses over the dotted line into my path (represented by the red line), causing me to hit the brakes to avoid an accident (represented by the cartoon explosion).

Please don't do this. Thanks.

^people do that all the time when turning onto western from avent ferry. I don't recall the dashed lines marking the lanes all the way through the turn, but it's still understood to maintain your lane, meaning far left lane stays in far left lane and not merging into the center lane
