Just before that, Rondo (or Perkins) missed a free throw, and just yells "SHIT" loud enough for America to hear. Apparently ABC doesn't do the 5 second delay. They then immediately cut the sound, but they missed that, haha.

Also, LOL at Brian Scalabrine after Doc Rivers called that timeout.

watching the lakers is like watching UNC... celtics won fair and square 5 against 8 and on the road against a bunch of tarhole-esque fair weather celebrities

Man I loved watching Ray Allen go off like that in the 1st half.

Just wished he could have knocked in a couple more in the second half to get it to 10. I feel like 2 things happen when I guy goes off like that in the 1st half. 1) The defense adjusts and the guy has trouble getting open looks or 2) The offense thinks the defense is going to adjust and goes ahead and switches their game plan. I feel like #2 happened, because I stopped seeing multiple screens being set for Allen at the beginning of the 2nd half.

Either way...thank got the Celtics won. They aren't my favorite team (although I love Jesus), but I fucking hate the Lakers more than anything.

Great games by Rondo and Allen. Garnett looked horrible...completely outclassed by Gasol. Pierce wasn't much better, but at least he was getting to the line and playing good defense. Those two guys are going to have to step it up in Boston.

I can think of 5 fouls off the top of my head called against the Lakers that impacted the game. 2 against Kobe that were bull. Then 3 in the closing minutes of the game: 1 against Artest when PP tripped over his own 2 feet. One against Artest for doing the same shit Rondo did 18 times, poking the ball out from behind the player. One blatant miss when the retards used instant replay and still fucking missed it.

Im not blaming the refs because the Lakers probably would have lost anyway...but damn, dont come in here with that bullshit.

the refs kept it close for the lakers...that's truth. How many times did big-baby get mugged and there were no calls? too many to count.

I'd say it definitely evened out. There were some huge foul calls against Kobe that were questionable, but usually err on the side of the superstar. But Boston's bigs were also getting mugged in the paint without any calls. The Lakers still shot 41 free throws to the Celtics 26 (with a decent amount of those coming in garbage time), and I'd say both teams took it to the rim a lot.

A Laker's fan shouldn't cry "Refs!" after this game...but Celtics fans definitely shouldn't say they won "5 vs 8" either.

However much you might hate the Lakers, I really don't see why you would want the city of Boston to win YET ANOTHER professional sports title...really? Have the Celts and Patriots and Red Sox not won enough titles for that city lately? They really need another one?

Obviously its different if you're a fan of the Pats or Sox, etc...my question is more for the casual fan that doesn't have a dog in the fight

^^^kept it close for the Lakers? Kobe, Bynum, and Odom all had 5 fouls, and Artest fouled out. I doubt they were making any serious runs when they were a couple of fouls away from the lineup being Gasol, Mbenga, Walton, Farmar and Fisher

I thought I'd never say this as a Lakers fan, but I would like to see more Sasha Vujacic. The only thing they need from the PG right now is to nag Ray Allen on defense and spread the floor by knocking down open shots. Fisher obviously cant keep up when fighting through double screens all day.

I also wouldnt mind seeing what would happen if Kobe played some tighter defense on Rondo. I know he's not going to take those open shots, but maybe he could force some turnovers.

I root for the player I like most when it comes to a series that I don't have much vested in. In this case, I can't stand Kobe, Ray Allen, or Pierce, but love watching Rondo play. This would be this casual fan's reason for rooting for the Celtics.

This is only recently. Before the Patriots started winning more than a decade ago...that city hadn't seen shit in years. The Patriots had been horrible and the Red Sex hadn't won in a century. I hate the Patriots because of Brady and Belichek, but I hold no ill will towards the Red Sox of the Celtics. I don't care much for Pierce, and I like KG more back in the day when he could back up all of his trash talk, but I love Ray Allen and highly enjoy watching Rondo play. So why should I cheer against the Celtics??

On the other hand, you have the Lakers. I hate everything about the Lakers. Josh Powell is the only guy I like on their team, and he's starting to get a little "hate by association." But he doesn't even play, so fuck the whole team. I respect Kobe, but I can't stand him. Fuck Derek Fisher. Fuck Lamar Odom (I use to like him, but he's gotten cocky as fuck since he got to LA and that shit with the fat Kardashian is fucking annoying as well). Fuck Gasol and his cocky, ostrich-looking ass. Fuck Jordan Farmar. Fuck Shannon Brown...all he can do is jump, and he even disappointed everyone with that in the dunk contest this year. Fuck Luke Walton, wannabe Vlade Divac. Fuck Sasha....I don't see how anyone could like that guy. I'm indifferent towards Bynum, even feel a little sorry for him because of all of his injuries...but he plays for the Lakers, so fuck him. And fuck Phil Jackson too. I respect you, like Kobe. But also like Kobe, I hate your cocky, "better than everyone" personality. And fuck that Zen shit too. Go coach Lebron next year so you can ride three of the best players in NBA history to all of your NBA titles.

Go Celtics.

Yeah cause getting the best players to play their best is something easy that all coaches can do...like Doug Collins and Del Harris

Pat Riley and Rudy Tomjanovich must've ridden Magic, Kareem, Wade, Shaq, Olajuwon, Drexler etc to their titles...Popavich is just riding Duncan and the Admiral

It was a rant, not an argument. I said I respect Phil, but I'm talking shit. So don't dissect my post, take it for what it is, an "I fucking hate the Lakers" rant.

And I just noticed that I said the "Red Sex." Would that be the description for having intercourse while the lady is on her period??

Yeah you have to go all the way back to the 1980s for their multiple NBA titles...my city has never won shit in sports...boo hoo for all their titles just because they're recent...the city of Boston has had a horseshoe lodged up their asses the last decade...I couldn't care less about how long the Red Sox had been without a title...I don't even have a fucking MLB team in my city...and before the Pats were winning all their titles, they were at least appearing in Super Bowls...and the Celtics...well they have like 17 titles...fuck them in their asses...especially Pierce, Allen and Garnett (who I used to like in Minnesota)

Kobe with one of his patented "i dont care if we win or lose, we're going to live and die by me tonight" games thru three quarters.

If he was a "winner" the Lakers would be up 20 with the way the Celtics are shooting tonight. But he has to force his awful shots because he can't handle the idea of not being the main story and the MVP of the series.

Odom stepping it up

I respect the shit out of Rondo and love him against the hated Magic, but I don't love him...he is like a robot...always the same expression...not knocking him for it...but I like to see players get fired up after big plays...makes them seem more human...although again not knocking him, he's just focused

[Edited on June 8, 2010 at 11:21 PM. Reason : ^Chris Paul is much more likely...I'd gladly lose my dislike for him if the Jordancats got him]

haha i love the Barkley Taco Bell commercial...although I prefer the longer one where he says turrible like 5 times

Kobe is shooting too much. Granted, it's not like there's a lot of movement in the offense..he's getting the ball late in the shot clock and having to make some things happen. Still doesn't excuse some of the shots he's put up.

lol "INSTANT" replay

thats one of those plays where they give the wrong team the ball because there was a foul...its bullshit to give boston the ball...then again, the refs have been bullshit this entire series, for both teams

If it wasn't 2 minutes in the game, refs typically don't call those fouls and just lets the other team get the ball...they gotta call em in the last 2 minutes. Makes 'em look stupid when it's an obvious foul and they have to reverse a decision.

And before game 3, it would have been 18-42, certainly a better percentage. He did his job on the free throw line, grabbed 7 boards, had a couple steals, 3 blocks, and some key defensive plays. Not everything is won on offense.

And if the Celtics had won, they would have won in spite of Ray Allen and Paul Pierce, just as they won Game 2 in spite of KG and Pierce. We know you like to hold Kobe to a higher level of scrutiny, but at least for this game, only Odom and Fisher played well for the Lakers. The best teams can win when the stars don't shine as bright during some games.

Kobe was a 43% FG shooter in games 1 and 2 combined.

The Lakers won game one because of him and lost game two because Odom shit the bed and the refs blew Rondo's dick, it's just weird how rally is the only one who doesn't notice this

The Celtics have played what, 2 good quarters of basketball this entire series? It's true that Kobe has missed a ton of shots the last couple games that he's very capable of making, but if those shots drop this isn't even a series. I think Boston is gonna win game 4 (Bynum may be hurt), but Kobe will rediscover his shooting touch in game 5 and the Lakers will go back to LA up 3-2 and wrap it up in 6.

also Jordan had a couple of games against the Sonics where he went 5/18 and 5/19 with 3 boards and 2 assists. So we can stop acting like MJ was flawless in the finals.

Thats simply retarded. One bad shooting percentage game and every hater comes out of the wood works. Artest had a good game, Bynum had a good game, and Fisher had a good quarter. Its not like Kobe is sandbagging and being dragged across the finish line. Pull the wool from over your eyes.

Kobe's 10/29 and Jordan's 9/26 are pretty much a wash

wonder if rally will address those stats, and tell us how the Bulls were winning in spite of MJ, and how Jordan was the 3rd best player on the Bulls, and how Rodman was a more efficient player since he got more rebounds and didn't take as many bad shots
