Is cincinnati our next fbs opponent? Hopefully we'll open the offense a little more that game. Glennon looked pretty good in the second half when he was given a chance to throw downfield.

I'm not sure why our secondary is so bad. They've got experience and no injuries, aside from byrd. It was a shitty first 2/3 of the game and then the offense picked it up.

I've been a state fan for a long long time, I know when to walk away from a season. like I've said before, if our defense can man up and play like they care we can have a pretty good season

That's what I'm saying...Yes, it was a Fucking loss to Wake Forest but I didn't come into the season expecting any grand thoughts of winning the ACC.Our starting QB in his 2nd start showed some growth the 2nd half. It's a long freaking season, and while I expect some more NC State shit to happen. I'm not going to write off the whole freaking season over it. Would everyone have preferred we kept being killed like the the 1st freaking half instead down 7 and chance to win if one or 2 drops doesn't happen.

The thing that kills me the most were the wide open WF receivers that just seemed to jog into our endzone, and it wasn't just one lucky play... Hopefully they watch hours of tape on that game and fix the obvious holes.

The coverage teams looked questionable.
We ran the most plodding offense possible for a good half of the game.
The defense didn't start playing until sometime in the third quarter.
No one can catch reliably.

That said, with the exception of the drops in the fourth quarter, we played at the level people expected. They just need to put it together for a game.

not that it was do or die (that was on the defense), but did you notice Wake blatantly taking time off the clock starting at the end of the 3rd quarter? 3-5 seconds per play, and ran the clock on a couple of out of bounds plays...again, shouldn't be an excuse, but it was blatant

I'm not an expert, but we play a zone...not man to man, which is why out looks like we're not covering anyone. I thought these guy were supposed to know how to play a zone defense by their 3rd and 4th year. I guess not

you don't have to do man to man to do decent defense, though. but giving every player a 10-yard cushion doesn't normally work out too well, as we are seeing.

I don't recall TOB ever throwing his players under the bus. would you care to provide any references? Saying "our receivers dropped some passes" isn't the same as throwing them under the bus.
