The weirdo is talking shit directly to current players (who happen to be teenagers). Some people will always argue "players don't read message boards" (of course they do), but they sure as shit read those tweets.

That looks fair.

Nobody really knows how productive this entirely new team will be so it would be impossible to vote them any higher.

5th in the Real ACC. We'd play Maryland on Friday of the ACC Tournament in Greensboro. Get past that and a Duke win on Saturday is doable. Then UNC for the title.

Never Give Up.

So Friday night is going to be some kind of military themed skits like UNC does I guess.

Gott should dress as Master Chief and blast live rams with a plasma rifle.

seems a little high for UNC without Bullock and with Hairston missing 2-3 games of meaningless OOC action...but I'd like to see what Ken Pomeroy's face's opinion is of this list

Virginia and UNC too high. I'd put them both behind Pitt. Probably a fair placement for us, but I think we will be better than BC and maybe even FSU.

any way maryland can go ahead and fuck off to the big 10 this season instead of next?

BC should be sneaky good this year. Their returning freshman (hanlin or whatever) and that fat fuck they have in the middle means they have some solid players. Not sure what to make of FSU and Maryland. UNC should have serious depth, but are probably overhyped. Honestly if we finish in the top 8, we should be happy.

You know, 10th is about right for us. I ain't even sweating it.

Call me crazy, but I think Vandy is going to surprise folks this year. Looks like he's been working his ass all summer instead of dicking around on twitter, and dropping that weight is going to help a ton. If he actually developed a serviceable drop step and short little jumper, other teams are going to have to at least deal with him. If we can get 20 minutes of him nominally disrupting shit inside and grabbing 8 points of garbage putbacks and 10 rebounds, I'd be happy as hell. You can't teach Tall, but you can teach footwork.

Shut up. I know. I know.

LOL at the idea that Vandy is going to average nearly a double double. We'll be lucky if he averages 4 and 4. This season will be a interesting year as the team needs to be improving as the year progresses so that we can hopefully be a legit tourney team for 2014-15.

Making the tourney this year is likely not going to happen, but how we play this year and how guys like Lewis, Turner, Cat, Anya progress will really determine if our program has any momentum towards getting better consistently or if Gott is just a good recruiter.

You have to remember, this is "the best conference in the history of college basketball" with the new additions...the conference could EASILY get 9 teams in the Big Dance...it's not that far fetched that we finish 9th or better and go dancing

If Vandy even sees the floor outside of garbage time minutes, you may as well call the season a failure. He isn't good at basketball guys.

Brian Zoubek sucked a lot of dick his first 3 years at Duke too, and stepped his game up in his senior year and helped them win a national title. And his numbers per minute didn't really change a ton, but his impact on the game did. Hell, look at how somebody like CJ Williams improved so much as a senior, or Howell last year. Not saying Vandy is gonna turn into some kind of monster, but it's certainly not unheard of for players to finally "get it" during their senior season and have a good increase in productivity.

^^Zoubek and Williams both were fairly athletic and coordinated on a basketball court. Their lack of impact early in their careers was mostly due to their head and attitude, not their lack of talent. Vandy has never shown even flashes. He could literally stand in the paint with his arms straight up and not move and be a bigger defensive impact than he has been. Hell, he'd probably have a couple rebounds fall into his hands that way.

I'd love to be wrong and for him to be serviceable, but 8 and 10 is laughable even for the most optimistic. Not only that, but if we are gonna waste minutes on serviceable, then we may as well develop lennard and beejay and washington who are gonna be here a while.

I don't agree with that. He has definitely shown flashes, particularly during his sophomore year. he'd have stretches where he showed that he could play basketball and use his height to his advantage.

Sounds like you were trying to describe CJ and just threw Zoubek in there.

He was neither athletic nor coordinated, and his lack of playing time early in his career was due to a)not being good/talented and b) good/talented players in front of him.

dont see how its creepy to tweet on twitter. It's not like im stalking people. its actually kinda the point of twitter.

I tweet like once a month.

I saw a guy step out of line and it brought back flashes of that gay ass purvis always choking all over UNC's cocksac and i had to say something.

Its more pathetic than creepy. And it was more funny than pathetic.

The key will not be anything but defense. If Gott coaches defense for the first time in his career, we will be pretty damn decent. If not, we will suck again.

I'm pretty pumped for this year because I feel like everything is going to be new. Obviously we had high expectations last year, but we pretty much knew what we were getting with CJL/Brown/Wood/Howell. I love watching them play, but we knew what to expect.

This year we'll have TJ being the main guy and Lewis being the main PG. Everything else is going to be brand spanking new. Freshmen, transfers, jucos. Should be entertaining at the very least.
