Management fucked up letting a young, emerging player actually play out his contract though. The result can't be surprising given the shady world of transfers nowadays. His agent stands to make a killing if he goes to a major club.

Unrelated, but damn it's irritating that the MLS continues to ignore the Southeast all together and now are trying to place 2 teams in markets they already have covered. I don't claim to know the workings of other areas, but I do know NC is a hotbed for youth soccer and they would kill in this state. We're good enough for professional football, basketball, and hockey but not fucking MLS? Yeah, ok.

100k isn't even ballparking what Real/Bayern/Rent Boy United could/will throw at him. Not saying he deserves it (definitely doesn't), but it's how those clubs put others out of business.

Yeah but that crazy money is two years away if Liverpool don't sell him. The agent is screwing his client right now because I don't think there's a chance LFC sells him to an English team and the other big money teams probably aren't interested in potential at the asking price of 50-60m.

How are Tottenham's kids getting on? Not helping their team qualify for CL. How many titles have Giggs, Scholes, Beckham, Neville brothers, and butt won? There has been a homegrown academy squad in every united match day team for over 60 years.

Players like McNair, Wilson, pereira, Januzaj, and Blackett would never get a shot at first team action outside of pool and arsenal.

Bsg you use data from 2 transfer windows to say united are a buying club. Yet within those two trasfer windows united have still bedded in more academy players than the top 6. But of course that is bullshit right? I am rationally admitting that the strategy has changed but how that makes united a buying club when clearly youth prospects are still getting a chance is beyond me. If this model continues and no academy prospects are getting a chance then yes it will signal a shift. Until academy players stop getting a chance at united, united will always be a club who values youth. Even in our transfer policy I hope we continue signing players like depay and shaw whom represent potential and not quiet the finished product.
