95% of the policy decisions so far would have been made by a President Rubio and a President Cruz

At this point it's fairly obvious Trump still believing the "widespread voter fraud" that cost him the popular vote is simply going to be justification for major voting rights reform, no?

^i was contemplating the same thing. Is this a set up for future restrictions? Or is this just a necessary lie to keep trump from melting down into a hissy fit? Like I keep wondering if Trump just stops functioning and focuses all his attention and rage on whatever the latest perceived bruise to his ego happens to be. He may be that insecure.

Not really surprised. Just saddened.

And apparently JCE has never been home shopping. He has no idea how little 180k buys these days. Let's say you go down to 150k. At that range, you're really pushing anything decent with 3 bedrooms. That's still 30k.

Normally I just ignore him for the most part. Now I just wish he'd go away.

This would need to be passed in congress. So it wouldn't be just some unilateral decision. And I know you are going to argue that "those racist republicans" who control congress will go right along with it. But in reality, I doubt this would make it to a vote*

However, there are much more concerning things occuring today, which this voter fraud issue is taking attention from. Most notibly, apparently there is a gag order at the HHS NIH. But you know, lets freak out about a potential non-issue.

You know back when you first started posting, I thought to myself, that's nice, another conservative in this wolves den of liberal voices. But you've since proven yourself to be a fringe lunatic who has absolutely no compassion for your fellow man. And that's funny coming from me, because I've been accused of the same thing here in the past.

And I'll ask you one more time. Have you ever been shopping for a home? Do you currently pay on a mortgage or are you renting? Living with your folks? I genuinely want to know. Because you seem to know so much about money.

This is more work than you deserve, but below is a listing of all the homes in the area 150 and below. Just take a gander. If I wanted to live in Cary, nothing even comes up for sale for 150 and below.

Seriously tho, a $180k house bought with 10% down isn't going to have a PMI of any more than $100/month. Your total payment won't be over $1200/month.

Also home ownership doesn't make you whole nor should we make people think it's always a good idea.

Also also your numbers are very NC centric. $180k in most places with a job market gets you a 1bed apt if you're lucky.

And the main reason the price of homes got so high is because banks "created" money through loans for people buying homes that they couldn't afford in the first place.

So you're complaining about a mechanism (PMI) that deters what lead to the main problem (high housing prices) that you are indirectly complaining about. The irony is not lost on me.

Then again, this is the guy that had difficulty with the concept of a secure border combatting illegal immigration.

The EPA freeze sucks. I'm still hoping it's just temporary. 2017 is the mid-term review of the Chesapeake Bay restoration program. It could guide stormwater, low-impact development, non-point Ag regs, etc, definitely ready to see their outcomes.

Honestly, at this point, people need to start wising up to the fact that those of us on the left who have been screaming at the top of our lungs for years about opposing all the systems of power that have been put into place (by both parties) which were ripe for abuse were on to something and not just being political reactionaries. We constantly declared that the systems of limitless surveillance, police militarization, and for profit everything would eventually create a system that would be exploited by the worst person possible. That day has arrived.

People need to stop being surprised now, and start thinking about action and meaningful forms of resistance. No, that is not hyperbole. This man is a sincere threat to the stability of the republic, and everything within his history suggests that he will use any and all tools at his disposal to lionize himself and punish his enemies.

To answer your original question. YES. He is setting up a narrative to strip voting rights away from citizens. The right wing has only won ONE presidential election popular vote since the 90s. Think about that for a second.

Now let me translate other popular Trumpism's, and put those in plain English for you as well.

When Trump blasts the media, either through his speeches ("opening up those libel laws"), twitter (they're horrible people), or through his nitwit minions (alternative facts), what he is really saying is this:

"I will silence the media. Only official propaganda will be endorsed. Only friendly media outlets will be given access, and adversarial journalism will be punished."

When Trump says that he wants to be a "law and order president," (remember, he said this after the Dallas shooting) and revoke the citizenship of flag burners, he means this:

"I will target communities of color who oppose me, especially the BLM movement. I will crack down on protests and unconditionally support law enforcement and grant them any means necessary to silence dissent. I will ramp up surveillance and begin spying on my political enemies in order to retain my power"

When Trumpycat says he will build a wall, or even add a Muslim registry, he means this:

"I will create a tiered system of citizenship, and revoke the rights of the poor and the weakest among us. I will create an atmosphere of fear and uncertainty in order to dissuade meaningful resistance."

When Trump says he will end the period of "political correctness," he means this:

"I will create an atmosphere where sexist, racist, and bigoted language is tolerated, and I will not condemn or disassociate with radical right wing groups who are now free to take advantage of 'stand your ground' type laws, or 'run over protester' type laws."

YO, THIS MAN IS DANGEROUS. This will not just blow over and return to normal. We are at a very significant point in history right now, and inaction should not be on the menu.

http://www.reuters.com/article/us-usa-trump-epa-climatechange-idUSKBN15906G

It didn't bother me they gagged the EPA, this was disgusting but within the realm of a reorg for a new administration I thought.

But it looks like they're actively trying to stifle and censor scientific research.

Quote :
"The employees were notified by EPA officials on Tuesday that the administration had instructed EPA's communications team to remove the website's climate change page, which contains links to scientific global warming research, as well as detailed data on emissions. The page could go down as early as Wednesday, the sources said.

^ correct.

After stewing on it I actually do think Trump announcing he will investigate voter fraud is just because he is a baby boy and gets so sad that he lost the popular election.

On a side not, are we going to have four years of KDogg and his type saying "but Obama" about things that most of us actually criticized him on at the time?

I can only imagine how many leftist propaganda sites JesusHChrist must be indoctrinated by on a daily basis to have such a hysterical, paranoid view.

Quote :

Because the left has been importing MILLIONS of DEPENDENT illegal immigrants for years. Look at California (aka North Mexico). All those illegal immigrants have crazy high birth rates, and those anchor babies vote democrat. Think about that for a second.

No, millions of anchor baby votes. If you actually ENFORCE our border and immigration laws the past few decades, the popular vote looks a lot different.

It's like the republicans and democrats are playing football, but instead of 11 vs 11 on the field the democrats bring in 3 more players and the refs don't call a penalty. So leftists have zero ground to stand on regarding the popular vote argument. All I can say is thank god for the electoral college.
