At least recent enough that we can discuss it in context. Busing was wildly unpopular, both with whites and blacks. You Biden haters are trying to judge the issue based on the current Trump hysteria.
Contrition? Lol, that would be surrendering to the far left. Why would he do that. He should stand his ground.

Maybe unpopular opinion(?): being Obama's VP isnt a bona fide for Biden in regards to his background on racial issues, hidden wasnt selected because of any kind of progressive views 9n race he was selected because he brought long term political inside experience/credibility to a young and fresh candidate. No one is claiming Biden is an outright racist, how does him accepting the VP add any credibility in regards to his position on a racial issue? Hes not opposed to being on the ticket with a black man therefore we cant criticize his past? 6/28/2019 6:43:25 PM |

He just can’t and won’t back down from past positions. It’s a character flaw.
When you’ve been around as long as he and Bernie have been there will be skeletons in your closet. Bernie said similar things about busing on the record in the past but has the wherewithal and humility to admit he was wrong and move past it.
Biden is a bit Trumpian in that way. 6/28/2019 7:21:48 PM |

Why should he back down? That's how you lose the election. There are different factions in the party. The far left is loud right now. He's a moderate. If he moves to the left, the far left still isn't going to vote for him. If a far left candidate wins the primary, to many moderate and right-leaning democrats will vote for Trump and Trump will be re-elected. 6/28/2019 7:32:40 PM |

Howard Dean accidentally leaked the DNC's strategy for taking down Bernie.
https://www.reddit.com/r/SandersForPresident/comments/c6sj2u/howard_dean_admits_all_dems_will_walk_back_their/
It completely explains the purpose of Warren and also explains Harris constant flip/flop. The crazy thing is when I went to show this video from a friend, it was wiped from the entire internet except reddit and cell phone recordings of the original.
On a side note, Bernie just got endorsements from all of the "knock down the house" candidates minus AOC. Of course, the media hasn't reported this at all so it won't matter much at all. 6/29/2019 4:41:38 PM |

I disagree with this and its arrogant to think someone isn't serious just because they have a different ideology than you. Bernie already has a coalition large enough to win the general and the main reason he won't win the primary is because the rules were made to make it difficult for people who aren't democrats to vote. Most of Bernie's coalition are not democrats. I've been saying that on here for 3 years. Everyone in the Bernie camp has known this for a long time. The Ellison/Perez fiasco was important because he kept the rules anti-Bernie. On top of that, candidate saturation hurts Bernie the most. He almost beat one Hillary but now theres twenty of them. The campaign of Elizabeth Warren has been the biggest threat to Bernie. Go back and watch the Howard Dean clip I posted from CNN. Other candidates are preventing people from seeing Bernie's monopoly on medicare for all.
My biggest criticism of Bernie has been that he stayed in the party after knowing they screwed him and knowing that the democratic primary would be anything but democratic. He's hanging on to the idea that his base will register democrat just to vote for him AND the DNC won't screw him again. The problem with that is, after the deep red states all vote for conservative candidates, the media will talk most people out of voting by showing exaggerated bar graphs and saying he has no chance.

I've finally caught up on the debates. Here's how I feel about the only five candidates I feel had a right to still be in this thing:
Biden: showed even his own supporters that he's out of touch and over done.
Sanders: Amazing integrity to consistently stay on message and not go on the offensive. The kind of thing you expect from a front runner, but he isn't one. Didn't take advantage of how poorly Biden did.
Warren: Graceful, brilliant, steadfast. She played the cards she was dealt perfectly, and cashed in on not having to go head to head with Biden and Bernie. I was previously uneasy about voting for anyone over 70 but I'm sold.
Harris: She did a great job going after Biden, helped expose him for the failure he is. But I'm still waiting for someone to call her out on her own crappy record. I have a feeling she'll be the target next time around.
Buttigieg: Setting himself up nicely to be just about anyone's VP. I loved that he admitted failure on national television, such a breath of fresh air from typical politicians. Although he made it even more clear he's not ready for the big chair yet.
Everyone else should follow Swalwell's lead at this point and drop out. 7/9/2019 1:27:58 AM |

Polls that didn't fit the narrative (kamala/warren surging) were completely omitted by media coverage. The thing is, theres so many polls that the media can just cherry pick the ones that fit their narrative. The whole school of polling is pretty bogus anyway. "We're going to use landlines to poll relatively small sample of a specific group of people on who they might vote for if the election that happens in 18 months was today and then use that to determine who can, and will win that election"
"We're not going to tell you much at all about the actual candidates, and will let you hear two word answers during the debate but don't worry, because we will blast the polls nonstop so that you know who to vote for" .
https://www.politico.com/2020-election/democratic-presidential-candidates/polls/ This one is from today. Even when your own poll doesn't fit the narrative, it doesn't really matter, you can write the narrative! Just look how they use gymnastics to black bernie (2nd place) out of the narrative.
Quote : | "Joe Biden's standing dropped 7 points since the debate, while Kamala Harris has taken over Elizabeth Warren's spot as the third choice among voters according to our latest poll" |
This kind of thing has a huge effect on people.

Sanders and Warren have a prime opportunity to make this election about issues and not personality. If the two of them work together the first night to set an agenda instead of pulling each other down, then the firestorm that will be the second night will make Biden and Harris look like children.
I think the single-issue candidates will be smart enough to pick up on it, but with Williamson and Beto in there I'm not certain they can keep the tone under control.
Speaking of which, who the hell is out there whispering in Williamson's ear that she should even be there? We know some candidates are there to push single-issue items knowing they will not win. But she seems convinced she can do this for real and I just don't get it. 7/22/2019 10:00:36 AM |
