^ My ex had Chrons, and its nothing to kill yourself over. and yes i know you really wouldn't do it but there are plenty of ways to manage it. 8/31/2011 5:42:34 PM |

I don't think it's Chrons (but I'm no doctor so what do I know) but I definitely think it could be gluten, diverticulitis, or Celiac.
I just hope you get an answer and it helps you to feel better. I know you and I have discussed this before because I know what it's like to be in your shoes. Just be persistent (which i have no doubt you will be) and don't settle for any "maybe" answers.
I had to do a lot of research on my own to figure out what it was that was causing my problems and little by little I started chipping away until I got it right. Now dare I say, I feel normal again. You will get there 8/31/2011 5:44:46 PM |

Yeah I definitely am not going to take any bogus answers... Something serious is going on and I'm going to get to the bottom of it
And since it might be gluten, I bought some reeses puffs for dinner since it might be my last chance 8/31/2011 11:42:33 PM |

you'll be great! they'll take a bunch of blood, ask questions, ask you if you have any questions. and hopefully the results won't take 2 weeks like mine did 9/1/2011 2:18:56 PM |

Eat one last cinnamon roll for me before you get the results. Those are the only thing I miss really bad. Mostly because I am too lazy to make my own, but the frozen ones are precooked and I like them almost raw. 9/1/2011 3:37:28 PM |

I love baking but even I'll admit cinnamon rolls are a bitch to make. I have to be in a special kind of mood to go through the trouble 9/1/2011 3:40:54 PM |

His bedside manner wasn't the best.... >_> but anyway, waiting to have my blood drawn. Could be a "number of things" but I'm like 99.9% sure it's not as simple as IBS. He told me to go ahead and cut out milk ( ) and work on cutting out wheat bread for now. Bump that. I'm cutting out all wheat products if it could be causing this shiz.
So I guess I am officially going gluten and lactose free. 9/1/2011 4:03:29 PM |

The good news is that there's a lot more gluten and dairy free stuff than there used to be.
The bad news is that I also miss poptarts, because I am too lazy to make them as well. 9/1/2011 4:37:05 PM |

from my understanding ibs is a diagnosis of exclusion...meaning "we have no idea what the hell is wrong with you so we'll label you with this."
so if it is celiac or lactose intolerance - it's concrete and you can control it.

I've been basically dairy-free for years now. The only thing I miss is brie.
But on the plus side, if I avoid dairy, I also avoid the explosive pain and side effects.
So it's worth it. Let me know if you need any recommendations on lactose-free substitutes and foods that will satisfy cheese/dairy cravings ... without killing ya. 9/1/2011 4:46:07 PM |
aea All Amurican 5269 Posts user info edit post |
dairy free isn't too bad- I voluntarily did it for quite some time (the nicer cheese is the hardest thing to give up). Just gotta give yourself some time to adjust- hope it all works out!
PS- I just found my new favorite bra. It's not like victoria's secret "full coverage" bras, that are actually like a demi or balconette style. It's from aerie, and while they don't usually have anything over a D in store, they ship (from a store order) for free AND you get the in store sale price. It just arrived, and I'm gonna have a little party tossing out some of my shitty VS bras. YAYYYY 9/1/2011 5:12:12 PM |

My aunt has been gluten and lactose free for years (causes flair ups of stomach and feet issues oddly enough). And she's been on supplements recently that allow her to eat gluten and dairy in moderation. They've worked like a charm, and no side effects. If you're interested, I'll ask her for the names, and you can talk to your physician about them. They don't mean you can eat whatever you want, but if you're really craving a cupcake, or butter, then it makes it manageable.9/1/2011 5:36:43 PM |

^ that would be great, thanks
I was upset by him pushing IBS as a main thing because last I fucking checked, it doesn't cause all the signs of a vitamin deficiency like I do. I have ridges and white spots on my nails, have had angular chelitis that took forever to go away, have lost literally half of my hair (if not more).. Not to mention, I already have an autoimmune disorder so wouldnt he think of another autoimmune disorder first? Idk, we'll see what the blood test says...
And thanks for all the support, ladies Lucy, I would love that!

i ordered these last week and they came in yesterday
omg the look so good.
united colors of benetton and express are my absolute favorite dress pant stores
and i have a slight confession (i guess) about my pants. i love them really really long. like just barely showing the tip of my shoe long and sometimes theyll cover my whole shoe and i love it
i think it stems from the fact that i went through many growth spurts growing up and several times in my life all i had to wear were high waters.

I need new pajama pants. I only have one pair that I really like, and they are getting worn out. I want some in a stretchy material, solid colored, and I want them to fit, but not be too tight. I used to want all my jammies to be baggy, but I've recently started to get really irritated when my thighs/legs touch each other at night. So now I have all these cute baggy jammies that I can't stand to sleep in. HALP tww! 9/3/2011 8:45:12 PM |

I can't sleep with anything on my legs at all. I always sleep with my undies and either a nighty or a tank top. I get hot easily at night and I can't stand how pants ride up my legs either. 9/5/2011 2:26:38 PM |
