Just because we missed on some recruits 5 years ago is NOT the reason we suck in 2011. Sorry dude. Hey did you know that Coach K missed out on Harrison Barnes just this past year and he seems to be doing just fine. Hell they even lost their star PG to season ending injury. Losing recruits/transfers/injuries is part of the gig, you still have to do your job. He gets all the blame. It's the nature of the job.

Lowe's situation was not even close to as bad as some others (even at this very school) have come in to and his performance ranks about as bad you can be in the ACC over a five-year stretch.

I think as every year has passed, Lowe's situation has become worse and worse in most's eyes. It sucked we had no PG and it sucked Atsur got hurt because we didn't have much depth but it's not like we were running multiple walk-on's 25-30 minutes a night.

I harp on this point, but you will rarely to never see me bash a college player because they are "amateurs" and "don't get paid." I have no problems getting on a coach who makes $1.5M a year to coach a game. It's a big money business and ALL the successes and ALL the failures should fall to the foot of the head coach.

I totally have a new view because of what that random dude from Pack Pride wrote. Everything he said is new and insightful, and hasn't been rehashed over and over in many different venues, including TWW.



Seriously though. Every fan has the right to bitch or remain quiet as they see fit. I would never personally taunt the guy, or wear a bag over my head, or do whatever other creative thing to shit on Sidney Lowe that my frat boys and I came up with. But the fact is, everybody pays for their ticket, and they have the right to expect a winner, or at least a program that is making progress towards winning. Right now, that just isn't happening. We only get 4 years of college, and for the unfortunate guys who are attending right now, they are going to miss out big time.

I know when I went to State, we had Phillip Rivers, so we were always at the very least, competitive in football. And despite the Sendek haters, we were always in the upper half of the ACC standings in basketball. Sure, we never won anything, but it was pretty awesome to know that we were even in the tournament, which put us in the top 40-50 basketball teams in the country. The fans (students) now will never have this. To me, if they want to bitch, let them bitch. It probably won't do any good or have any affect either way, but at least they'll get something out of going and watching our basketball team under-perform every night.

It's hilarious (probably more sad than hilarious) what this thread has devolved into after going back earlier today and looking at some of the posts from prior seasons. The excuses just got more and more and more absurd with each season (the 11 game ACC losing streak over two seasons and people still sucking Lowe's nuts was just baffling) and the team has just stayed absolutely awful all the way to this point that the most ardent Lowe supporters are now re-posting pack pride articles calling for civility and blaming Chris Wright. Is that supposed to be the white flag surrendering or something?
