totally unexpected. he had quadruple bypass 2 years ago and basically was given a new lease on life. He said he felt better than he had in 10 years. then my mom left yesterday to get new tires and was gone about 3 hours. when she came home he was laying on the floor, no pulse not breathing. Called 911 and they had her do chest compressions. when EMS arrived she called me and I got over there about 10 minutes later. watched them do CPR for close to an hour, which was when I knew he wasn't going to pull through. I guess they got some sort of pulse because they transported him to ER where they put him on life support. But I knew he was gone. We wanted them to take him off the machines and just let him go, but they wanted a neurologist to check to see how much brain function he had. Then they called us at 2AM and said his BP was dropping and for us to come down there. He passed at 3AM. At least we all got to say goodbye

same thing happened to my dad earlier this year with having a heart attack, having bypass surgery and feeling better than he has in years supposedly. with as much as he smokes now i'm pretty much expecting something similar to happen one day

see, that's the crazy thing. my dad quit smoking like 5 years ago. then after his bypass he got on this health kick. was eating right, exercising, yada yada yada. Recently he did start to gain a bit of weight, but all of his doctors said his heart was doing well. His cardiologist told us last night that sometimes one of the bypasses will just collapse, and that is what they think happened.
