but you can renew it anytime without taking a test
just go in and tell them you need more time

i need to read up on the driving test, i'm sure i can do it

but they only offer it at wierd times here...

gs500f's are straight IMO. I really dont like the look of the non-f version but in terms of the bike itself it is a nice bike. I was thinking of getting one as a first bike and I hear they are very reliable and responsive.

its an amazingly competent bike

comfortable, just enough power (until you start fucking around on the highway - though of course i am a fatass) and its a naked bike , so its stylish enough if you care about that

they seem a bit on the pricey side for being bikes with faring damage. May not sound much, but farings go for quite a bit of money, unless you plan on fixing it up yourself. It would be easier to grab an 00+ r6 thats in crisp condition for 3-5 grand now days.

its an 82 maxim 750 if i remember right, he is my twin and my family had been trying to talk him out of getting rid of it. My dad was taking his bike out for the first time since he got finished with it (bought an early-198? old virago 750) and was in front of my brother and his crashbar caught the dog at around 45 and he was able to hold on to it but the dog stood up and my brother couldnt avoid it. My brother hit it around 40 and flew off the bike and his bike stood up to the point the headlight hit the pavement and then laid over. He is skinned up bad (riding in t-shirt and shorts) and may have broken his thumb (they are at the ER now). The funny part is that he wrecked in the corner of the coroners yard.

My brother is praising shark helmets right now. He never hit the brakes from 45 mph or so, he took a nice ride. He had on a shark s500 i think. It didnt even damage the helmet too badly. My dad said it was in really good shape.

Wow, that sucks. Hope he heals up soon. Tell him to take some vitamin E or anti-oxidents as they speed up the recovery of healing. They boost the immune system. It def aidded my roadrash to be healed very fast, My roadrash went away in a week or less.

i have a 1988 hawk 647 gt. it's in dire need of a paint job as you will see in the picts. other than that it runs great and is straight (getting paint next week hopefully). i would love to take it there. how longs the ride? i would have to gas up every 90 miles though

under 2 grand for sure. maybe 2.5 for a really clean one with clean title.

you would have to go out of state to find one most likely, bikes are so overpriced around here.
also hawk is somewhat of a cult bike, and the beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

you should be able to find an ex-racer for under 2 grand, might have a few scrapes and no street lighting though.

i found one with 11:1 pistons clear title, m4 high mount for 2300. i have picts too it's nice ..he's located in hickory nc. found him off hawkgt.com (mailing list).

this is what he said:

"All work was done at Excel Motorsports by previous owner(he is tech there).
Heads re-worked, bored +1 over,new balance shaft, new bearings, jet kit.

All suspension and brakes are OEM, no mods.
