jdbyrd, on snowbound, if you spawn in front of the base with the beam rifle, run in and grab it then go straight for the shotgun. Alternate between the tunnels and the top of the base where the beam rifle spawns.

I've grown to hate snowbound and epitaph. it turns into a camp fest with those shield screen things. and people camp so hard in snowbound its ridiculous.

i use to hate until i figured out that you just have to take over and dominate the camping spot. if you don't do it they will do it to you. just the same as i use to hate rockets, but hey you have to get them first because if you don't they will use them on you. dog eat dog.

my gripe with halo3... isn't necessarily halo3's fault. if someone quits or is just a betraying, annoying douche, IM ALWAYS ON THEIR TEAM
when i don't have a full party i'm would love to see the % of games where i have to play against full teams and outnumbered by at least 1 or 2

^^^^it was mostly with rockets (8 kills out of 23)...i'll upload the video tonight...i haven't watched the replay and honestly didn't realize i had that many kills in a row because i was running all over the place.

I see people bitching about not getting achievements so I'll jump in the boat and complain too.

-I routinely get 6-8 melee kills in ranked lone wolf slayer matches, but still don't have the Up Close and Personal.

-I've beaten every level (on normal) in the campaign and have the the level achievements to show for it, yet I don't have the Campaign Complete. I even watched the credits all the way through to the final cut scene, but when it went back to the main screen it just said Campaign in progress. WTF?

-as for "We're in for some chop".. i've got no clue what it takes. I've blown up wraiths and choppers with trip mines. Not sure what else to try.

What do those decaying nostrils scent in the air as they sniff the perfumed night of the boneyard? Brains of course. Succulent, delicious brains. Brains are to zombies as bacon is to people. Or candy, if you’re kosher.

It is a scientific fact that zombies feast on human brains because they are the softest meat on a person and Zombie dental care is not really up to snuff.

To celebrate the gustatory tendencies of the walking dead and to acknowledge All Hallows Eve, we’re launching a spooktacular, eerie-otic and cryptmongous playlist for 27 horror-filled hours, starting on October 31st at 12:01am and ending at 3:00am on November 1st because we love Hawaii Halloween too (Chicken skin kine). It is infection and it is the playlist of the Living Dead.

To answer your eerie queries and uncanny questions, we reanimated Transylvanian Tyson Green from his dank and moldering pit.



Q: Infection, what’s that?

Infection is this really great gametype, inspired by a custom game devised by our community in Halo 2, which we added official support for in Halo 3. In Infection, most players start off on a Human team, with one or more players starting off as Zombies. The odds are stacked heavily against the Zombies at first, but when a Human is killed by a Zombie (as they inevitably are), they join the Zombie team and turn on their former teammates.



Q: How long will the Living Dead haunt matchmaking?

Just for Halloween, from 12:01am to 3:00am the next morning, PST. We decided to let it go a bit late into the morning to give people a chance to play when they got home from their Halloween carousing. Infection is a lot of fun when everyone is into it, but we don’t think it would make a good playlist long term, so it’s going to come and go.

And if everyone has a good time, who knows? It may return, as the restless dead are known to do.

Q: Can I get achievements in this playlist?

Yes, it is set up as a Ranked Playlist, and players will have some good opportunities to pick up a few of the harder MP achievements without any of that pesky guilt. Fending off the hungry dead is as righteous a way as any to score an Overkill. It’s also a good chance to fill out your Ranked Medals with some of the Infection medals, like Infection Spree and Hell’s Janitor.


Q: There’s more than one version of Infection in this playlist, what is each version and how does it work?

We’re using two main versions: Save One Bullet, which is close to classical Infection but with limited ammunition which keeps the Humans from holding off the Zombies forever, and Creeping Death, where the Zombies are a bit slower but shockingly invisible and deadly. Creeping Rockets is a third variant where the Humans are more heavily armed, but the Zombies are tougher too.



Q: Do the maps in Living Dead have the same set-ups that I am used to?

The Living Dead playlist will be the first to use Forge variants in Matchmaking. Lars [Bakken] and Dan [Miller] pulled out all the stops and Forged some masterful variants featuring fortified positions and anti-Zombie booby traps to help get people into the Zombie mind (which is to say, wanting to get into a Human’s mind. Directly.)

Q: Man, I love these gametypes is there any way I can get them?

Any time you play one of these variants in Matchmaking, they’re saved in your Recent Games queue (in the Custom Games lobby, go to select the game type—the Recent Games list is at the top.) They may also show up in the Bungie Favorites this week.

Q: Will there be more special hoppers in the future?

You bet.

^ nah...I understand exactly what he's talking about...did you play ALL solo or ALL online? b/c mine did the same thing..I had played most of the game through online and some of it solo...I went back and beat the rest of it on solo and somehow got the achievement. I'm not really sure what the deal with this is, and it isn't fair, but it's just something you have to deal with...

as far as "we're in for some chop" I just through out a trip mine right in front of a chopper that I severely damaged the rider of and it was done...I think the driver of the vehicle has to die...that may be the loophole they are catching you on...but I'm not sure...

^,^^ I was thinking that might be the reason because i did beat a few levels while playing co-op. Sucks that I can't remember which ones though. Doesn't seem right because it doesn't matter that you're playing co-op when you're skull hunting, but who knows.

Never paid close enough attention to know for sure. I just figured everytime you melee killed someone it was either a beatdown or an assasination.

so

again as a person new to xbox live/halo

this am i played a game of team slayer

and there was all kinds of what i would assume are "lag"/"lagging" etc

where id be running somewhere, and all the sudden it would shift me over 10 ft. or id pick up a weapon and it wouldnt pick up till like 5 secs later, or throwing a grenade that takes 10 secs to explode

however it all seemed wayy too convenient and beneficial to the other team (who destroyed us btw)

did i likely experience general lag within the live system or is there a possibility the other team was fucking with the game?

so, i live in a rural area that has no possibilities of high speed internet. no dsl and no cable runs near my house, believe me i've tried and been calling for these services for years.

well, i love playing halo, and used to play halo II online while i was in raleigh and just knew that i could not give up on my online play so easily. so, i am going to give wireless internet a chance.

satelite internet has been shot down by numberous claims on the internet and i decided to not even go that route.

well, with this wireless internet system, for some of those that may not know, uses an antennae and points towards the closest cell phone tower with internet capabilities. see the picture below:



i have high hopes that this system will work without lag. all the parts are costing around $300 and monthly fee will be around $60 for 1.5 Mbs, if i'm lucky. Some of you will say that is a ripoff, and i do know that it is, but i'm desperate here people. it will all be tried out on saturday. i'm sure there is a chance it may not work, but i also believe that it can. this is my last option, so please wish me luck, and i hope to see you sometime on the battlefield...

I'd probably get Halo 3.

I have both and love them both, but jumping into a game with 7 other real people is always a good time, and I get a get a different experience every time I play. The feeling after murdering a bunch of people in Slayer is better than beating an animated Slash over and over again. There's only ~70 songs to master in GH3, but there's millions of people online to kill.

Plus Halo is 40 bucks cheaper.

But obviously they're two totally different games. Sometimes I'm in the mood to play one, and sometimes the other...I wouldn't say I like one more than the other. But if I had to pick one, it'd be Halo.
