I got the letter saying I didn't qualify either. I know I had more htan $50 but I didn't photocopy.

I heard on Hotcouponworld.com that P&G was randomly rejecting qualified people. I guess they didn't think it would have been such a huge turnout."

On SD people were getting rejection letters for buying the Fusion razor because it didn't actually say "FUSION" on the receipt (or something like that) so they were calling in and complaining, stating their case, and the P&G CS people were adding their rebates to the list and reversing the rejection. If you bought the Fusion and think that might be the reason you were denied, it's worth a call!

I always read on here and on coupon websites with the matchups like use SS 1-14. So, when ya'll get your coupons do you write the name and date of the insert on each coupon?

^^ They're sneaky about this then... see, it was so long ago (middle of Jan is when I bought my stuff) I don't remember what the heck I bought!

Sigh. Well, at least they DO give you a chance to get up to the amount. I'll have to look at what coupons I've got left.

There's been all this talk lately about how Red Plum (Valassis) was going to stop putting coupon inserts in Sunday's paper and start mailing them instead.

They just released the names of the papers that will still get the inserts in the paper and N&O is listed...so we are safe for now. The problem w/ the mailing of Red Plum is that it is one per household. So acquiring many inserts for stockpiling is more difficult.

The word is that each newspaper has a contract w/ the coupon distributors and once the contract is up, Red Plum will go to mailing the inserts.

^ all I know is, ECB (extra care bucks), is CVS Pharmacy's card. Kind of like MVP/VIC. I rarely shop at CVS (rarely any good deals), but from what I understand when you buy stuff instead of discounting the item, it puts the amount that would have been saved onto the card. So that future shopping trips can be discounted like a gift card. (somebody correct me if this is an incorrect description)

RR, is Walgreen's program, Register Rewards. Never heard of CEB.

actually, ECBs are printed as physical coupons on the end of your receipt. there is no storing of ECBs on your card - which i think would actually be kinda nice. you have to hold onto the ECBs when they print, and you have to physically use them yourself - they are used as cash in CVS.

also, sometimes the item is regular priced but you receive ECB back when you buy it. sometimes the item is on sale though AND you also get ECB back.

you may think there aren't any good deals at CVS, but that's in the beginning. you have to spend money out of pocket in the beginning in order to start receiving a good amount of ECBs. once you've built yourself up to $30 or $40 ECB bucks, then it's quite easy to start getting items for free or for cheap. but it does take a lot of time to study the deals and hunt for the coupons, not to mention organizing everything. i started just before christmas and it's taken until now for me to get really good at it. and you don't want to know how much money i've spent at CVS since christmas. it's sickening

I have a friend in Mississippi whose daughter has a problem gaining weight, and as a result she drinks 2-3 of those Carnation packets a day as ordered by her doctor. I'm sending her all of my free Carnation in a care package. If anyone else wants to roll their bucks but doesn't really drink the stuff, let me know and I can include it in my package!

The daughter prefers chocolate, but will drink vanilla (with chocolate syrup in it).

Speaking of nutrition drinks, Walgreens has some free ones. Their six-pack is on sale, and you get a rebate that makes it free. I think the limit on it is one six-pack.

So I have a few notes about Harris Teeter:

The last few times I have gone I have noticed that if an item is BOGO and you use 2 coupons that double you CAN make money off of it. I did this today; however, if you are buying a single item it only rings up to the purchase price.

Sunday paper had Colgate toothbrush .75 off. It is on sale this week at Harris Teeter for 1.50 (free)
Frosted Flakes are BOGO and there was a .70 cent off of one so use 2 (.58 cents for 2 boxes)

Question:

My husband is a manager at a store that sells papers and he doesn't have to return ads. So I can start to stockpile coupons because he can bring them home. How many copies of each coupon do you try to get? He can usually get somewhere in the neighborhood of 1-5 sets of ads on Sunday. I was thinking 3 was a good number.

CVS near my house had some random woman roaming around with 4 boxes of carnation instant breakfast in her cart. I thought she had been hiding them because there were no boxes left on the shelf and she was kinda darting all over the store and each time I saw her, she had more.

I asked her where the shelf was with the carnation and she pointed me over to the nutrition section. She then quickly added her mom and sister were meeting her for a tutoring session and that was why she had so much stuff in her cart because they were coming to get their stuff from her...

I saw her check out shortly after and used FOUR CARDS. To me, it was sad...sad that she had to lie...and also sad for all the couponers. Don't go to the CVS in Knightdale if you want some Carnation. They get a truck on Monday though.

OH! and the P&G Coupon book wasn't all that great. Pretty much the same coupons over and over with varying expiration dates.

^At Walgreens, can you use their coupons in addition to manufacturing coupons?

This is where I get confused. When and where you can use multiple coupons for one item?

At Walgreens, you can use one of their Walgreens issued coupons (like in-ad coupons or easy saver booklet coupons) plus a manufacturer's coupon.

At CVS, you can use a CVS issued coupon (can be found on the bottom of your receipt, in emails from CVS or in magazines) with a manufacturer's coupon.

Rite Aid is a little iffy. Some stores will take a Rite Aid in-ad coupon with a manufacturer's coupon but some won't b/c the in-ad coupons say "manufacturer's" on them but also "redeemable only at rite aid"...it depends on if the cashier will take it or not

Target issues Target coupons that can be used with manufacturer's coupons...some stores have become VERY STRICT about letting a person use a Target coupon and a manufacturer's coupon on one item...they have all been trained to read each coupon very carefully and if either coupon states that it can not be used in conjunction with the other, they will deny it.

Lowes Foods issues in-ad coupons sometimes and they can definetly be used with manufacturer's coupons...never had a problem with it before.

The only places I've ever had trouble w/ getting them to use a in-store coupon with a manufacturer's coupon is at Rite Aid and Target. But I've noticed that if you go to Target when they open at 8am on Saturdays, the young cashiers are too hung over from Friday night to care about coupons and they just SCAN, SCAN AND SCAN ...the thing that amuses me is when I go in w/ a Target issued coupon and they tell me its fraudulent...um hello I printed these off the TARGET WEBSITE. If anybody ever gives you trouble about the Target coupons, just go over to theregistry kiosk and click the link that takes you to the TArget website and print your coupons from the kiosk. Works every time

I asked this a while ago and no one responded.

I was wondering how ya'll keep track of which inserts were from which dates. I found that the P&G ones have the date of the insert on them but couldn't find it for Smart Source or Red Plum.

Do ya'll just write the dates on each to help find them when other websites do the 'match ups' or am I missing where the date is printed on them?
