Well Alabama scheduled a home-away with Duke getting the home game first and figured that they could pay Duke off with a lot of money so that they wouldn't have to do the away game. The Duke athletic department said no. The Duke athletic department knew that they could sell out and even add some bleachers just for this game. They probably also got some help from the city of Durham b/c they knew the Bama fans would be a good boost to the economy.
