starting lineup of:
C - Kevin Love PF - Chris Bosh SF - Lebron James SG - Dwyane Wade PG - shoot
they'd fill the bench with a constantly rotating group of NBDL players signed to 10-day contracts

But seriously if they got Love, they'd have to get rid of Bosh, right? Cause if not, they'd have even worse depth than they do now. And the Spurs already proved that a good total team beats a superstar, a couple stars, and virtually no bench. And Lebron WILL get a max contract. Dunno if Wade and Bosh are willing to play for half of their old salaries, if another team is willing to give them a lot more.
Melo will probably end up in Dallas, imo 6/29/2014 7:47:46 PM |

With all of his off the court money, does Lebron even need to get paid by the team he plays for? He could still make $100 million this year without making a dime from the Heat. Just have them sign him to a $1 contract and get whoever they want. 6/29/2014 8:21:44 PM |

Dallas is a real good possibility for Melo, they have plenty of cap space after offloading those contracts for the Tyson Chandler deal and he is good friends with Melo and has said he would try to recruit him. Lots do mixed talk around here about that, most are kind of excited about the possibility but also pretty wary as well. 6/29/2014 8:26:09 PM |

Sounds reasonable. But if Heat choose Kevin Love, man, we will see them in the Finals again and again. Kevin Love is the starting C of dream team 12' right? 6/29/2014 8:51:45 PM |

^^^He makes lots of money in endorsements. That doesn't mean he's gonna play ball for free, or even for less than a max contract. He's the best player in the NBA. He's going to want to get paid like it. 6/29/2014 9:11:23 PM |

^^Well yeah, I guess i'm just throwing in the hypothetical. If dude wants to win a couple ships in a row that badly...sign on for league minimum, allow the Heat to spend like crazy on talent around you(since you're already making bank either way and will never be able to spend the amount of money you're making) and profit with championships.
I'm not saying it will happen and if I was in his shoes I wouldn't let it happen. But just hypothetically.

there's a good video on espn about how basically how miami is sooo fucked if lebron gets a max deal and wade/bosh get the salaries they are rumored to be asking for, really lebron seems like kind of an idiot if he insists on playing with wade anymore, it's so obvious his career is going to fall off soon and he's very likely to be a overpaid/dead weight contract 7/2/2014 10:12:59 PM |

i think melo staying would be a smart idea. he'd basically get a guaranteed max contract and free agencies in 15, 16 look pretty strong and i could see phil pulling a pat riley and draw someone like KD to new york to assemble an elite squad. at that point the NBA would be due for a new power shift. 7/4/2014 1:22:27 PM |

I don't see Carmelo's style of play being conducive to a championship team any time soon. Maybe he can team up with someone to get his big three, but he'll have to learn to share more. 7/6/2014 11:42:52 PM |

A team that already plays good defense like the Bulls or Bobcats, but lacks offense would immediately become a contender by adding Melo. He doesn't pass much but he's a helluva scorer and great rebounder for a 3.
If he took his talents to team up with a couple other superstars he might already have a title. And old man Iverson doesn't count. 7/7/2014 12:11:04 AM |
