There should have been a press break implemented. Markell had to dribble the ball up against the press for 15 seconds each possession in the second half. Then, with the clock running down, had to start the offense.

It was a good game but FSU adjusted at halftime and we didn't adjust to their adjustments.

Daniels made a layup during that stretch. And we attempted a 3 right after a DD’s made 3 and Hellems’ stolen inbounds pass with 90 seconds left. But yes, overall that was some shitty basketball in the final 90 seconds. They finished that stretch 3/10 on FTs. We score 4 points over that stretch

Yeah...shitty way to lose because this felt like a really winnable game. But you’re right. Beating 2 top 10 teams back to back is a really tall order. Shouldn’t be too surprising we lost. But damn...this game felt like it was there for the taking and we just didn’t capitalize. That ~5 min stretch of zone to start the half was bad. And we couldn’t get much rhythm after that...Kells and Bryce were off. DJ couldn’t get going since he was on the bench with foul trouble. Hell, in some ways it seems impressive we kept it so close with Kells and Bryce combining 5/22 and DJ limited with foul trouble

When KK got T’d up, I thought they had missed 2 obvious fouls back to back on FSU but otherwise hadn’t been terrible. And then I got salty about the refs from that point on. So I honestly don’t even know how bad they were because I was a few Modelos in and very upset that things were going south for us.

10 minutes in to the 2nd half FSU had had 1 foul called on them while they were in bonus. First half was the exact other way around. If we would have started on the other end of the court we could have won that game with the way momentum and the foul calling worked

Just got back from the game. That technical Keatts got for protesting the complete lack of fouls at the rim really worked. Pretty sure we got exactly 0 calls at the rim afterwards.

I agree that almost all the fouls on us were legit fouls (that one on hellems on a fast break sure looked like he didn't touch the guy), but they were absolutely mauling our guys with no calls in the second half. That and that big goofy #15 was holding Funderburk with both arms literally every defensive possession he was in the game and never once got a foul called for it. Also the myriad of missed travels. Refs are the dumbest people on the planet.

Bryce threw up some terrible shots, Markell was off on his scoring and bates and Funderburk sat with foul trouble most of the 2nd half. Hellems stepped up but surprised we kept it fairly close with so many subpar games. Did they say we went like 10 minutes with one field goal? That is unacceptable, even if FSU is super athletic.

Thanks for this. The fact that they can get into non-rivalry games makes it evident that fans have an "on off" switch. They need to start turning it "on" more consistently. Its almost like they are choosing to give the team an edge for certain games and choosing not to for others.

While I agree that the officiating was uneven, it wasn't what caused us to lose. We had to do better against FSUs zone in the first 5 minutes of the second half. KK should have called a TO during the second possession of the half, when it was obvious that we had been taken off guard.

Anyway. Gotta win 3 of the last 4 for any chance of staying on the bubble. Otherwise, we will need to win at least three in Gboro.

The home games are required the away games are prob more negotiable. If we do that it's likely we're still top half. Win the first acc game and we're prob last four in territory, beat one of the top 4 and we're in easy I think.

Our SOS is way better then last year and our quad 1 is better too. Quad 2 is worse but I think Giglio showed they barely looked at 2/3 last season (st John's). We really need Wisconsin to stay quad 1 I think.
