Too big of a hole for what? To go on a late season run and salvage some dignity? Make this team look like it has some potential (a nice tool to lure in coaches)? maybe you're right in that we've probably dug ourselves into a hole too deep to get out of.

But adder's point was that, putting Lowe aside, NCSU has had a pretty tough ACC schedule so far. We've played all the teams in the top half of the conference. Our remaining schedule should allow us to pick up some wins.

I really only see us beating Georgia Tech in Raleigh, and just maybe VA in Charlottesville (but you know we're an awful road team so maybe not). Giving us 2 more wins and 5 ACC wins total.

I would think that is the most realistic prediction, but you never know with some of you guys.

A home game against Clemson is very winnable and a home game against FSU without Singleton is also a good possibility.

Looking at our ACC schedule 10 of our 16 conference games are against teams (currently) in the upper half of the ACC standings. Fuck conference expansion...

I agree with everything he said. The UNC comment kinda stings, but that seems to be the perception. I do think we'll need to open up the wallet this time around.

This is one of those situations where you get what you pay for, and Lowe has to be one of the lowest paid coaches in the ACC.

Meh...I wasn't calling for a coaching change 2/3 years ago and I honestly didn't even discuss Lowe's coaching ability...but I was also not happy with the hire, and after two years, I didn't think he was a good enough coach to make it here. For the couple years after that, I was hoping that he would get better as a coach and that maybe his offensive and defensive strategies would better suit the players that he was bringing in. But obviously that hasn't happened.

I felt the same way about Amato after our 10-win season. That three game losing streak after starting 9-0 showed a lot of coaching deficiencies. There were a lot of other "doh" moments before and after that year as well. So although there was definitely not any heat on his seat after that year, I didn't have a good feeling about him being our head coach.
