I dont feel like quoting and posting since i'm on my phone, saps...but Sabrina barks her head off at people she doesn't know so she too would chase away crackheads or luggage salesmen. The ups guy gets his fair share and he's prolly here once a week. And someone that cases your home (like they did ours), will come prepared. When it happened the cops even said that type of shit happens alllll the time. Dogs do not mean shit.

Casey, I know how you feel. The house I lived in on Method Rd. was broken into one night while we were all out. They ran out the back door when my roommate got home. They got in through a window in my room. Even though they didn't take any of my stuff, they stole my boyfriend's bass guitar and knocked over my bird cage. The fuckers even dumped my roommate's snakes out of their aquariums. It's an awful feeling and it takes time to get over it.

well all those are valid points, they just had no bearing on the situation at hand. A dog will at least make a quick smash and grab thief think twice, or at the very least, hurry up. And a gun is really only for your protection- don't do much when you're not there to use it. As for bushes, I guess that is a valid point, but like you said, you don't have any that I can remember. It's just a shitty situation all around.

someone mentioned earlier that the dog thing is false, and that if they want to get in and get something they will, which is a valid point. But by the same token, every reasonable measure in the world can be put into place, and if someone wants in, they will get in. These things are all deterrents, and unfortunately nothing is 100% successful against the scum of the earth.

Have you thought about getting an alarm system? Or setting up your own? I have actually been looking into doing that myself (I think str8bacardil just made a thread about it in tech talk). And when did you get the guns? and when did you get a second dog?

I washed my underwear so many times after our house was broken in to. EW....

Casey, we got CPI after our break in. It definitely made me feel more at ease after. Shaking that "stranger in my house" feeling is hard....that helped.

i washed all my stuff in the drawers that were open...i scrubbed the walls and handles and everything that could be touched...

it's easy for people to preach who have never had it happened (INSURANCE WILL COVER IT...WHO CARES WHAT THEY TAKE..BLAH BLAH BLAH)...and they are are...insurance will cover it and it's more of an inconvenience and annoyance that someone took your shit...

but they CAME INTO YOUR HOUSE and took your shit...
