I remember when he was on ECW. Good times.

I didn't know the Smashing Pumpkins came back! I liked listening to them back when I was in elementary school!

I have, for various reasons, missed 5 or 6 opportunities to go see Sonic Youth. It would probably make the list of my top ten regrets in life.

my friend won 4 tickets from rock 96.1 to the war memorial aud show, he got the 3 o'clock threesome.

linkin park - bleed it out
ac/dc - big balls
sp - tonight, tonight

common theme = cinderella (minutes to midnight, ball, pumpkin)

so seriously, what's the itunes pre-sale?

if i were to buy the album on itunes, would it give me a magic code to get in early? sounds pretty gay.

I think if you pre-ordered zeigeist on itunes, it gave you a code to get a preferential place in line for ordering tickets on this fall tour (if I'm remembering right - it might just be an entry for a free tickets contest)

Yeah, that was the deal.

I wouldn't worry about it too much - people haven't really had any problems getting good seats for these shows. Hell, I doubt there's that many unused presale codes still out there.

it was actually some shit called "What I've Done" by LP, and "Today" by SP.

^ah well he said it was "that new linkin park song" so i just assumed. and maybe he said it was today, the song didn't really matter to the theme.

anyways, SP played last night here in San Diego. great show, played 2+ hours which was all i was really hoping for. good mix of the albums with some long ass versions of a few of the songs (HMM, silverfuck).

first playing of Ava Adore since 2000. sounded great.

i couldnt justify $50+ to see them in a setting with seats where they only play a 15 song set...check out their recent sets and you'll see...

i guess nothing will be like asheville was

I wish that was the opener during the Asheville residency. I was thinking about getting tickets but then realized that Explosions will be around again at some point playing a full set for 1/4 of the price of these tickets.

^^and their show at cat's cradle just recently kicked some major ass (because they mostly played stuff from their first two albums), and i assume they wouldn't put on that good of a set as an opener.

when I saw Explosions @ the Virgin Festival, I was one of like 200 kids completely enthralled. People didn't "get it," for the most part. Not that there's some grandiose aesthetic going on, that whole down-tempo ambient instrumental rock just doesn't register with that many people. I fucking love it.
