I'm curious what you mean by this. In my experience, male and female hikers' diets are equally horrendous. The main difference is that females tend to eat less. walking doesn't burn quite as much as people like to dream it does. it helps, but that's about it. different body types and other factors require different diets. the same goes for exercise routines.

ummm, Pat, actually it does when you are talking about hiking 20 + miles a day in rough terrain up and down mountains but some people just can lose weight from various reasons.

i know some girls that must have some genetic issues and can not lose weight at all. one friend is thinking about doing the gastric bypass thing and she diets, eats right and exercises a hell of lot more than i do
