I'm sending my friend there so I can live vicariously through her.

I was wondering where i could find some Pete's wicked ale in the store...I haven't noticed it in the grocery store...but it could be there, anyone know if its a regular thing or seasonal or what? 2/11/2011 9:03:14 PM |

If you are serious...
Pete's Wicked Ale was sold to the Gambrinus company about 7 years ago. They announced this past month that brewing and distribution of the Pete's Wicked Ale line would stop immediately. So if you can find some, pick it up. I honestly haven't seen it in my local stores in a long time. 2/11/2011 10:12:19 PM |

from the weekend
this is phenominal.
this was pretty good, but not as good as i had hoped.
the gf really likes this one, but likes it with one bottle from the fridge, then mixed with one bottle room temperature. it's a little average. not too bad though. 2/14/2011 11:42:12 AM |

Another person let it slip out that it would be today... I think they are only telling people that come in-person about it, because it's nowhere to be found elsewhere.
With this much hype about it, I wouldn't have been surprised if there was a line at the door when they opened today. I'm probably going to head over about 2:30-3pm I think. Have a little Pliny the Elder and Dry Docks Seven Seas DIPA while I'm waiting.
Fun factoid, Dry Docks Seven Seas was named such after the 7 C's hops they put in (I presume Columbus, Centennial, Cascade, Chinook, Crystal, Challenger, Citra)

^^Agreed, the Baltic Porter is pretty fantastic.
so after a couple pints of olde hickory i decided to head down to the saucer and meet the lady as she finished up hosting trivia. I enjoyed a Stone Double Bastard which was quite tasty. Then I had a Dogfish Indian Brown. I have not had one of these in several years and for awhile thought the bartender poured me the wrong thing. For an indian brown it was favoring characteristics of a dry stout (head retention, mouthfeel, etc) and was less hoppy than I recalled. It was definitely the right beer after talking to the bartender for a few minutes. But for future IBAs i'll stick with Foothills or Terrapin.] 2/16/2011 9:19:53 AM |
