6'3 with big hands so 0 is easy for me to hit, thank you genes! Queens on diff hotkeys lets you check the status of each hatch and you can tell if you miss a vomit unlike map/backspace. It's just better, yes it requires more clicks but so does everything better in SC/SC2 =P
On another topic destroying a faggot 2pylon 1 cannon contain feels so good as zerg! Oh youre gonna contain me? Then I'ma just build drones first 8min then nydus u with 20+ speed roaches =)

huh? Don't get why you wouldn't put all your nexus on one hotkey.

I'm always splitting off my probes anyway so I want them both building probes at all times.

it's a lot easier for me to remember my current setup and get from base to base for whatever I may need to do there. it's also easier for me to keep track of chronoboosts that way.

I also don't build probes often out of mined out nexuses. Maybe one or two from main to natural if the natural is really close, but never from my natural elsewhere or to a gold.

gotcha. I just like doing whatever I can to keep my hotkeys as low as possible. Beyond 5 it is a pain for me.

So I've gotten much better with zerg after tailing off a little of the early aggression. Once I get speedlings out I'll harass their expo but I rarely touch their main other then with mutas. I've done a complete 180 on the speedlings, I hated them at first but now they are one of my favorite units.

I think I'm playing zerg the way they are meant to be played now, containing my opponent to one base and expanding all over the map like crazy. Its super entertaining to just sit there and force them to sit on their one mined out base while I have hatcheries all over the place.

In 1v1 it's common to expand before you even drop your spawning pool. It's like a different game compared to team games.

I typically go 14 gas 14 pool, then get speed with my first 100 and expand around 20. I am still in silver and there is too much cheese too often that i cant beat them if i were to expand before pool.

if you're two gating and chronoboosting zealots, 5 is one of good timing attacks. of course you set the gates to rally on the lots so you might get another couple in before the attack is through.

I'm pretty comfortable with up to 8. 9 and 0 can be tricky for me to use often in the heat of things just because my hands aren't that big.

there was a 400-500ms lag it seemed in all of my games too. my internet isn't THAT shitty at all.

^They said patch Mid Month so could be it. They've posted proposed details, it is on the front page of Starcraft2.com.

Nothing really groundbreaking, nerf to tanks, and ultras I believe. They are making zealots take longer to build and warp gates longer to warp. Said it was to easy to zealot rush terran or some shit??

I dunno, sometimes I wonder if they actually play their own game at times. But this isn't really a big game changing patch, I just think more of a tweak patch.

They also came out with the new top 200 lists for all 3 regions. Pretty interesting, in the US there was only 1 zerg in the top 20 and he's actually a Korean player who plays on both US and Asia. In Asia though there are more Zergs doing much better. Also in Asia they have some guys who have played a ridiculous amount of games. One guy was like 750-500.

The nerf to Ultras isn't a nerf at all. It's actually a buff to killing smaller buildings in groups like supply depots, pylons and walls since the Ultra will now cleave buildings. The Ram had a longer attack period so the dps to single buildings is still pretty much the same.

They are making the damage to buildings as you've said as well, but this is what I was talking about.

One thing I was thinking about.. curious to see what happens if they release the patch while this huge GSL tournament is going on in Korea. Will they postpone the release of the patch on the Korean servers just for the tournament? Would be pretty tough to release a patch halfway through something like that, at that level even minor adjustments make a huge difference in game.

Ah yeah, I forgot about that part. Doesn't really make that big of a difference. Most of the time I use Ultras I use them for their ability to take damage not deal it (and stomp on forcefields, stupid Protoss).

ya just maintenance crap, no patch.

Had a nice win with zerg my last game I played, 1v1 vs. a T who was a top 20 diamond(although I've learned that doesn't mean shit). Saw an early scout from him, and sent out 2 drones because I just felt like a proxy was coming with such an early scout. Found the proxy barracks sent out another drone to kill the scv and stopped that. He still insisted on going reapers and by that time I had my ling speed and took care of that easily. Then actually used Banes which is a great unit that I don't use nearly enough. Great counter to MMM with roaches and lings having those banes thrown in. Was just nice to have one of those games where I was a step ahead of him, knew exactly what he was doing the whole time, and just patiently dominated the game.

I think after this patch I'm going to have to quit playing random and pick a race and I think that might be zerg. Just seems like I win more 1v1 with that race than the others, I wish I could get the statistics for what my winning % is with each race. I'll stay random for 2s and such but I think the higher I get the more I'm losing just because I lack race familiarity... especially in the mirror match-ups which I think are always the toughest.

I think they were trying to nerf 2 gate? Unless Zerg goes straight for roaches 2 gate does a LOT of damage. You can get 5 zealots up before they can get much of anything.

Hahahaha just had an epic fight. Not sure what map it was on, but it was pretty big. I started off trying to proxy rax the guy (its just silver ) and he caught it - so i retreated and started building up my base. Then he says his GF just called and she was gonna be there in 10 minutes. So he hits me with a bunch of marines and manages to take out most of my base, at the same time I hit him with a few banshees and took out some of his. We ended up playing a game of chase the command center for about 30 minutes while I kept rebuilding in different areas and building up large numbers of marines. I finally went into his base and took out most of his stuff and when his army came back to get me they all funneled through his own wall off and got picked off by marines. He had only expanded once and didn't have anything going in his base. GG noob!

HAHAAHHA i just bmed my way into a win. me and flue (titans78) were playing a 2v2 and they went double FE double voids, nothing but voids. it was on a map where it's really really easy to FE. twilight whatever. anyway, when we get attacked, i send all my probes from my expand around the map, and expand over and over and over. didn't build anything but probes, got a forge, played around with some cannons all over the place, and they eventually rage quit.

i attacked one of their expands with probes, they were too scared to finish me off

Okay so this is a really stupid question, but this is something that is hurting me in games all over. What is the best way to make probes/scvs/drones attack? Whenever I have an early zergling rush on the opponent they always seem to meet the lings and spread out automatically to attack like a normal offensive unit, but mine always just seem to stand around. Is there something I'm missing here? Today I got freaking worker rushed and had a good 4 more workers then him but mine were refusing to attack.

select the probes you want to attack and just attack move the area.

you can get a little cute with it if you want, by adding a bit of micro but for that to do anything you'd have to have that pro APM. you should be about to fend it off just by selecting and attack moving. if you did your job scouting you should have some units to take care of it with the probes.

if you don't attack move but instead just right click attack after that unit you attacked is dead, the probes/workers, not being an offensive unit, will just sit there idly. the attack move has them automatically attempt to kill anything foreign to them in the area before becoming idle again.

Man there are some SHITTY 1100ish diamond players. I find that usually if the person doesn't respond to my glhf sir they are usually just hooorrible. Just had a terran attack me at 9min in with 2 hellions, 4 marauders, 6 marines, and a medivac lol?

Great night tonight w/ friends (3v3s). Averaged 80 APM one game , a new record for me. Best game: PTZ (us) vs. TTT (them) on Ulaan Deeps. I went reapers and all 3 of them went mass marine. My base got demo'd, then they hit the zerg base and slowly ate away at it while I was helping our least experienced player - the P. He made 8 voids and gave me control. I figured they would get stomped by triple mass marine, but I microed them the rest of the game. Those 8 voids (w/ speed upgrade and +1 weapons) cleared out 3 terran bases and all the marines.

Best part: at the end, they started complaining about how mass voids is for noobs and why protoss is the easiest race because of it . Made my day! Still averaged 70 apm that game i think, despite using only voids. We checked the replay: at the end of the game, those void rays had almost 150 kills + all the buildings!
