I don't care what Pack Pride says -- Georgetown is still considered a "good loss" even though they're 1-3 in conference and have lost 3 of their last 4 games 1/8/2011 1:19:14 PM |

i dont know if its a conspiracy or not, but you pretty much just confirmed that there was something that gives certain teams preferential calls, so theres something wrong with it
although it doesnt usually manifest itself until the NCAA tourney, when teams like UNC, used to getting calls all season, actually have relatively fair officiating and don't know how to handle it 1/8/2011 1:20:01 PM |

I don't think it's a conspiracy. Sure they get the benefit of the doubt, but a lot of these best teams also have dynamic offensive big men that draw contact. 1/8/2011 1:23:03 PM |

I didnt realize this. I figured it was like football where all of the officials were associated with a conference. Whatever the case, those refs screwed Georgetown a couple of plays to end the game.
UNC sucks and they still get the all of the calls. I believe in this conspiracy.1/8/2011 1:33:18 PM |

went downstairs to B0j0s' living room when UNC was up 22-13 in the first half, and stayed till halftime and gave UVA some good mojo
then i went back down in the 2nd half and the mojo was gone, so ive come back upstairs 1/8/2011 1:47:44 PM |

UVA tried shooting too many mid-range shots that weren't falling
they either needed to commit to the 3 or take it to the hoop on each possession 1/8/2011 2:05:13 PM |

Well what we can take from that game is that both teams are pretty terrible.. Without zeller Carolina would be lucky to win 6 ACC games this year 1/8/2011 2:06:55 PM |

They had 10 of those FTs in the last minute when UVa was fouling/going for steals... It wasn't as big a spread as they've had in some other games over the years.

similar to the Kentucky game, where I think UNC didn't make a basket for the last 6 minutes and still won. and it's not like they were ahead at that 6 minute point
let's not try to act like this was a game that UNC led the whole time and UVA was trying to foul a lot to get back into it.

UNC got the benefit of the calls at the end of the game. There is no doubt about that. There were at least two over the back fouls that were not called. UNC wouldn't have been in position to shoot those ten extra free throws if they weren't gifted those first four free throws. 1/8/2011 3:04:43 PM |

Meh...UVA lost that game by playing shitty offense in the 2nd half. All they had to do was hit a couple buckets, but they couldn't get anything going.
UNC had been looking pretty good in the past few games, but that was not an impressive performance. But a W is a W...especially on the road (I don't even bother to add, "in the ACC" because it's apparent that the conference is fucking garbage this year). 1/8/2011 3:19:28 PM |

I know I'm saying this right after a win and I wouldn't have if they lost probably, but it's not like they were getting beat by scrubs. Three Top 15 teams all in true road games in the last four games.
75% of teams in the country don't play three Top 15 teams in true road games all season long.

^ Even with their superstar freshman Michigan took them to overtime. They also had very close calls with some of the worst Pac-10 teams out there. Yes they are still undefeated but the margins haven't been too convincing. There best win is against Memphis so yeah not too inexplicable. ^^ What we should be expecting out of the #3 team in the nation and NCSU are entirely different things right now. Your inability to understand that really explains your irrational views concerning the current state of NCSU basketball. 1/9/2011 7:45:02 PM |
