I have no objections to him leaving if we win out.

In fact I'll cut that deal right now.

Leslie will be an absolute fucking monster next year assuming he stays. I would imagine he would be preseason favorite for ACC POY.

Part of me is afraid he'll be another Josh Powell, with someone in his ear telling him he can make it in the NBA despite a slate of people suggesting another year is what he really needs.

Hopefully though, his connection with Gottfried will be enough to prevent that.

The rush after last year's NBA lockout draft is the only reason he could stay, if he does.

Please, this is the ACC. I'm sure that Austin Rivers or McAdoo (sp?) will have that locked up.

Great tournament C.J., sorry the refs called B.S 4th and 5th fouls on you so you couldn't finish strong.

This is nc state can't remember the last time we returned all underclassmen. I bet we've lost about 20 over the last 20 years, no exaggeration

2011 - Ryan Harrow
2010 - Julius Mays, Josh Davis, Johnny Thomas
2009 - Brandon Costner, Trevor Ferguson
2008 - Marques Johnson, JJ Hickson
2007 - Andrew Brackman
2006 - Ced Simmons
2005 - ???
2004 - Dovonte Edwards?, Mike O'Donnell
2003 - Dom Mejia?

Didn't see Martin's list

Powell and Simmons are the ones who got away, I guess

Brackman was always going to leave, Hickson was always one and done

Josh Davis could have given us a little depth this year, but I doubt he would have contributed much

[Edited on March 12, 2012 at 6:15 PM. Reason : Also I love Jumpin Johnny Thomas. Sack of shit doesn't really mean sack of shit, you know]

half the list was top 100 recruits actually.

Most went on to start at their next school, some went to the nba, some became all conference.

The ones who sucked were the minority.

NC State has always had trouble retaining talent in basketball and football. For whatever reason people love to leave early, while UNC players tend to stay an extra season more than they have to.

Teams that had losing records in awful conferences

Dude is averaging 18 ppg and 11 rpg over the past 5 games, while shooting 71%(!!1) from the field. Crazy that he is only scratching the surface of his potential.

since we're hijacking the thread, let's talk about how ryan harrow blows ass when he's matched up against anyone with a shred of talent and how i can't wait to see him actually shed tears when calipari pulls him

We redshirted Costner in 2005-06, when the team was very deep in the frontcourt. He had another year of eligibility even though he graduated.

^^ no need to have sour grapes about it. brown is a stud at the 1 and we have a great backcourt class incoming. it's fine.

^ didn't he hurt is knee or something.

i'm predicting that harrow will be a very good offensive player against the best.

yeah, costner got a medical redshirt after he played several games his freshman year. (knee or tibula or ankle or something.)

[Edited on March 12, 2012 at 6:51 PM. Reason : he graduated and split with another year of eligibility left. you've already forgotten?!?!]

you're definitely right, literally. especially brown. and wood and howell. and cjw. and of course, aj and painter.

but CJL's emerging dominance in the past couple months has been crucial.

During the Xavier-Lehigh game there was an old Carolina fan next to me that I was shooting the shit with. He had nothing good to say about Leslie (go figure), but he did say that Leslie wasn't even going to class anymore that he's made up his mind about going to the NBA. Anyone have any knowledge of this?

^So you're taking a fan of a rival program that has been removed from college for many years seriously about something that's going on in our school?

I'm not necessarily taking it serious. It was the first I've heard of anything about it, so I certainly take it with a big grain of salt. I just wondered if maybe someone on here goes to class with him and maybe could vouch that he's still attending class. I'm still hopeful as hell that he'd return.
