the foul count in the clasicos has been pretty even. real madrid's players did not do nearly as much playacting as the barca players, you can't argue this. pepe's foul was a yellow, not a red, and if alves hadn't acted like he'd just been shot or if the barca players hadn't immediately surrounded the ref it would've been just a yellow.

not liking real madrid and/or mourinho is understandable but let's call a spade a spade and say players like pedro, alves, and busquets deserve to have their legs broken for shit like that.

also, with barcelona's possession style game how do you expect coaches to instruct their team to play? you have to go hard, and refs need to let players play.

I didn't deny they were being bitches too. I can't stand Busquets, Dani Alves, Pedro, Mascherano (obviously), Puyol, and most of the rest of them. They're all embarrassing to watch - which is why I rarely watch La Liga and I rarely watch Champions League games with either of these teams.

I just have a Messi boner and the only reason I care about seeing Barcelona win is so they can beat United in the final.


Real Madrid should not have to play like that with the money they spend on players. Nor should they point to officiating as the only reason they lose games. It's pathetic.

there's nothing wrong with having a defensive style, and playing that way doesn't mean you're not manning the fuck up. up until pepe's red card mourinho's tactics had been pretty much spot on in controlling barcelona. pretty much any time you try to take the game to barcelona they destroy you (a la the 5-0 thumping of Real at camp nou).


and the messi boner is understandable, as much as i hate barcelona that second goal was pretty special, and really the only good thing to take away from that game.

Barca got away with it against Chelsea twice, almost with Inter, and now with Real. The bias is clearly apparent.

Mourinho's strategy was, as blanks said - perfect. Manned up and told his team not to play like assholes? Mourinho told his team to keep it compact and play defensively, to win every ball. That's exactly what they did in the CdR final and it worked to perfection. Barca had absolutely no answer for it and were grasping at straws the entire game until that unwarranted red card.

Pepe's foul was a yellow card at best, and Alves CLEARLY simulated the contact to get him sent off upon further review. That's TWO YEARS IN A ROW Barca have cheated in the semis to gain an advantage. How is that not shameful to you?

There are games when the referee ruins the run of play, and this game is a PERFECT example of that.

i hate barca and they dive a lot, but pepe was a dumbo to go into a 50/50 ball like that. there was absolutely no reason to go in with your studs up like that, especially against a total puss like dani alves.

i hope barca don't get in like they did against chelsea. that was the most mad i've ever been in a game that i cared so little for either team. barcelona bring out everything i like in soccer, with the passing and tricks and scoring, but they make it seem acceptable to dive and play like assholes all the time. kids are going to grow up seeing that, and it'll be a never-ending cycle of shit.

Mascherano's dive was one of the most blatant I've seen in a long time...you can clearly see him pause in midstep as if considering whether to go down, and then fall on his face. I am not as bothered as some people by dives, but this dive prevented a goal-scoring opportunity in a Champions League semifinal.
