the beachbody challenge fell apart when face started screaming like an ape about how intermittent fasting is the ONLY way to lose weight and what everyone else was doing was wrong.

hahaha klaty, that picture is awesome

thnx for the kind words errybody
didn't expect it, honestly

and no, i wasn't part of the beachbody challenge. for a lot of reasons, but mostly because i get ridiculed on here enough when i post in the beautiful face thread. the idea of posting progress pics and stuff, that's just begging for more hate that i don't really want.

Oh, and I, too, stopped posting in the beach body thread. I was getting chastised for not doing enough, and my workout plans were not good enough. But I lost 22 pounds, 2 pants sizes, one shirt size and 2 dress sizes. SUCK IT HATERS!

same here - i lost almost 40 pounds but it wasn't "good enough" since it wasn't intermittent fasting.

where is the quote, "i can feel the fat melting off of me." and this is coming from someone who also drank a case of beer a night! yes have fun with your cirrhosis

I guess losing 40 lbs to someone who drinks a case per night is more like them taking a dump, I can see how he thinks nothing of it

everyone has to find what works for them when it comes to weightloss. that's why that beach body thread bothered me so much. there were too many "you must do this" type of posts, and if you tried to reason with them, you were labeled an idiot (or worse).

i wanted a lap band to give me that extra push to lose the weight, but it was still more than two years before i finally got my ass in gear and actually tried to make the lap band work for me. now it's doing the job it was intended to do. i could have been at this weight two years ago, but i was lazy and not willing to do my part of the job. i guess in the last year, i finally got that push to make myself healthier.

A little late on this today, sorry Confessor!

"OK tdub, I have a dilemma.

My former employer still owes me money from July - about $500. The owner of the company (small, local business) has been giving me the run-around and keeps pushing back the date of when I will receive the rest of my pay (I received $300 from him at the beginning of the month). This is not the first time it's happened (which is why I no longer work there) and I suspect he's taking all the earnings for himself and his family (2 ex wives who don't work + kids).

I have bills due and I'm getting really fed up. I know that I could take him to court, but that costs around 100 bucks +time off from work, etc - which I don't have. What I do have is the password to his email and website. I was thinking about changing his email password and shutting down the website until I'm paid. What do you think? "

If the $500 was for technical services related to email/web, would it still be illegal to disable them?

It's not normally $10, but as long as it wasn't Rochefort 10, I'll be ok.

But seriously, what beer was it?

I'm really glad to hear that you're using your lap band to its full potential. Congrats on the weight loss and good luck with the rest

They say that studies have shown that people who get the lap band can actually lose their weight permanently.

We were talking in other threads about how the body defends a higher weight and people who lose it through conventional methods almost always gain it back. That isn't true for people who get the lap band.

It just shows how important the satiation feeling is as a part of the body's machinery for maintaining weight.

You shouldn't be ashamed of online dating. It's the new normal now right? Just a sign of the times we live in. I have a brother slightly younger than me ( 29) and he does the bar scene just about every weekend. He tells me and complains that, the girls just get younger and younger each time he goes out. Duh. The older you get, the more you want to remove yourself from the bar scene. Otherwise, you'll just keep meeting 25y/o and under.

I think that's part of the reason why people( our age, 30s) turn to online dating. And, your social circle gets smaller too, harder to meet people.

But know of 5 or 6 people who have had success with it and now are either engaged or married. I am sure there are many on here who can tell you the similar.

I haven't dated in a long time too. Not a year but pretty close to it. Last relationship didn't end well, and now, it's "me" time. But moreso, scared of failure again.

I also would consider online dating if it came down to that...
