In all his videos, he doesn't have particularly remarkable ball handling kills. That's why he is questionable as a PG.
And lewis can go both ways on PT. If he doesn't get any, it will be because of defense. If all you can play is offense, then you are of limited offensive value. Some of the easiest points you can score come off of defense and rebounding. But he may also be the guy who stirs the drink, so he may be a net positive. We'll see. People talk about offense too much.
AJ can steal minutes for Brown because he is strong and can stay in front of his man.

you right. Brown/Purvis/Lewis pretty much have to play the 80 minutes at the guards. I was thinking CJW played 3 some12/16/2011 4:33:26 AM |

I dont think this coaching staff is going to relegate Lewis to the bench because of defense seeing as they dont really care about it all that much in the first place 12/16/2011 7:34:23 AM |

I want that Lob City shirt.
Just watched the game this morning. Lewis looked great. Great passes, no stupid turnovers. Didn't blow by anyone, but used angles and his body to get separation to get off shots in the lane.
I don't see how you can't come away impressed. Oh...and his defense was just as good as anybody else's in that game. It's not like he was getting isolated and abused.
His shot is a little whack...but as long as he can make it at a decent clip, then I guess you can't change it. It's like a hybrid two-handed set shot/regular one-handed shot. 12/16/2011 7:46:53 AM |

Except for Jason Kidd is about half a foot taller and crazy athletic/fast coming out of high school.
It's cliche...but he's more comparable to Steve Nash. Not the most athletic, but just fast/quick enough to be able to use his body and angles to get space and create shots and points. And great court vision. Steve Nash is a much better shooter though.12/16/2011 9:58:04 AM |

well I meant it more from an "ugly shot, great passer" angle. He just has the "it" factor that makes him a fan/teammate favorite and a major frustration to an opponent. Hopefully all that doesnt catch up with him when he plays superior competition in college, but after the show he put on last night against a team full of Div I players, I think he'll be alright 12/16/2011 10:35:23 AM |

When I was a kid, I got too see Jason Kidd play in a high school tournament in Myrtle Beach. Amazing. I can still vividly remember him firing two perfect no look passes that hit teammates in the face, he was already playing at an NBA level. 12/16/2011 10:46:21 AM |

Nash is also much taller and more athletic than Lewis. He can dunk on NBA players as easily as any his size. This is not a valid comparison at all. The difference in shooting alone would invalidate the comparison. Being able to shoot off the dribble makes you an order of magnitude harder to guard.

The only reason he had a career was because teams brought him on in games when they needed a three. 12/17/2011 2:40:54 PM |

He's black, but both of his parents are light skinned too. Probably some interracial sex not too far back on that tree.
More interesting to me is the Chris Leak/Michael Beasley look. Is there a particular name for that complexion? 12/17/2011 8:43:44 PM |

I think that Ice Tea coined it as the "light skinned brother" look. Kind of like Terrence Howard (the actor). It used to be the in look for black guys but, now I think that the darker look is making a comeback. IDK, I still think that the Beasley/Curry look is hotter than Snipes/Hounsou look.
Anyways, back to recruiting.12/18/2011 11:51:18 AM |
