I liked Saw ok, but they advertised it as being better than Se7en and it didn't compare. I'll give the second one a $1.50 view at BlueRidge though 9/12/2005 7:33:18 PM |

Quote : | "Saw it ...wish I hadn't, 24 October 2005 1/10 Author: No1YouKnow from United States
This doesn't deserve a full review, but IMDb requires I write at least ten lines to publish this comment, so here goes:
Saw II is perfect for sadists and masochists. The sadists will love watching people put death in all sorts of "creative" ways. The masochists will love it because it's truly painful to watch. Painful acting, painful plot, painful script ...and masochists love their pain.
Instead of providing real suspense, Saw II relies on raw gore, loud sound effects and quick cutting. It doesn't work. The sound effects will be familiar to anyone who's sat through a movie trailer in the last 5 years, and the cutting screams: "You're watching a bad Marilyn Manson video." If you want gore, stay home and play a video game -the popcorn's cheaper.
The screening I caught tonight was free and I still paid too much. Saw II has one clichéd message: Life Is Short. I'll never get those two hours back, so all I can do is warn you: save your time and money. " |

^^^ Screw that review. Even classics like Citizen Cane have freaks that'll complain that it was the worse movie they've ever seen.
I'm going regardless of reviews, even if it's only half as good as the first it'll still be ahight. 10/25/2005 4:36:43 PM |

i want to know why the girl that was in the first one is in the second one. she was the one with the drug problem that had that huge metal box on her head that was set to snap her jaw off. 10/26/2005 12:16:33 AM |

she didnt appreciate her life, she was wasting it on drugs, he helped her in the first one, but then she went back to drugs (i think thats what happens), so now shes back again 10/26/2005 12:20:12 AM |

IMO the first saw was a joke. it was worth going to tho just because it was purely entertaining from the cheesy horror film standpoint. i LOLed at the acting quite a few times.
luckily horror films are at least entertaining when they are bad. 10/26/2005 12:32:37 AM |

i was worried Saw2 would completely suck when i saw the trailer & so many people together in the "puzzle" ( if you're gonna focus on man v. man dilemas, the acting is crucial )
BUT
Saw2 was damned good imo - this time though, the "twist" @ the end was silly & stupid but it didn't ruin the entire film. it just set up the logic of there being a Saw3.
the "twist" at the end of the original Saw was so good to me, I'll let it slide if its sequal didn't compare....
( fucking Saw - it's brought me back to posting on here twice now ) 10/28/2005 11:47:21 PM |

the only thing they need to work on is how the characters behave in a certian situation, some things they did didnt make much sense

yea, the acting in this one was better. but there were so many characters in the film , it doesn't really matter. we're not watching two guys in a room trying to cry for two hours.
mark whalberg's (sp) brother (the main cop) did a good job i thought.
and the movie as a whole was better too. it coulda used some more neat deathtraps...i always enjoy those... but overall it was much better i thought. i wasn't a huge fan of the first one in the first place though, so i dont know what others will think.

of course it didn't - we are all different. that's why they shouldn't have had so many people trapped together in this movie. shiit - it's like they were REAAALY trying to mimic the movie Cube ( # of people trapped, door on the floor like a cube, common bond w/ prison )10/28/2005 11:59:24 PM |

Wow, I loved it. I was worried a different director wouldn't do as well, but it was BETTER than the first overall, in my opinion. Entirely more suspensful. When that black dude touched that chick outta nowhere on those stairs I 'bout lost it
The ending was amazing to me, I totally enjoyed it. Creep-out of the movie goes to *******SPOILER************
falling into the pit of needles......freakin' yikes
The only real question I had was: where in the world did that needle come from that was laying just beside the safe and Jonas (dead black guy) at the end? I can't figure that out.
This is the 1st sequel that easily matched the original, and surpasses it IMO. Worth every penny. 10/29/2005 12:24:28 AM |
