I want to know your opinions. I personally would never placed Family Guy at the same level as South Park! I wouldn't even placed the Family Guy on the same level as Ren and Stimpy!!All I want to do is have an intelligent conversation about both South Park and Family Guy. I want to draw comparisions and contrasts. Family Guy has potential, maybe Seth needs to learn how to create good cut scenes containing celebrity references to tone down the cut -in scenes that exist now, with help from the creators of South Park of how to really poke fun at pop-culture references. 9/29/2005 11:41:50 AM |

South Park is a good show, but it's not like it's fucking JESUS or something. Damn, kid. 9/29/2005 11:43:16 AM |
Penzoate Veteran 267 Posts user info edit post |
I never compared south Park to Jesus. South Park serves as a good model of their portrayal of celebrities. Their references are done more properly than Family Guy. They don't overused and abuse their celebrity references like Family Guy . 9/29/2005 11:53:50 AM |

So the outrageous celebrity caricatures you find in south park are "done more properly" than the normal-looking, self-voiced celebrity cameos on family guy? 9/29/2005 12:22:07 PM |
Penzoate Veteran 267 Posts user info edit post |
South Park has had cameos, they have cameos all the time. But they have the guhunas to come up with their own way of exposing celebrities instead of just ripping off another show like Family Guy does with the passion of christ from south park. 9/29/2005 12:41:05 PM |

Penzoate is like a thread pigeon. He just flies in, shits all over a perfectly good thread with his South Park rhetoric, and flies out.
For some reason, that Opie character who wanted to suck Peter's finger in this week's episode had me rolling.

so Family Guy ripped off South Park when they parodied Passion of the Christ.
I mean, it's not like IT WAS A FUCKING MOVIE THAT EVERYONE KNEW ABOUT. No, it was entirely Parker and Stone's idea.9/29/2005 1:22:20 PM |

Yeah... so southpark does a passion of the christ episode... that means that any other show that makes fun of that aweful movie is copying southpark? I bet you were the kid who in kindergarten would bitch about people "copying" him whenever someone else wore the same color shirt as you.11/7/2005 1:25:23 PM |

South Park episodes can be made much quicker than family guy episodes.
That means that they can stay up to speed with current events and put the same topics on the air sooner.
Family guy may not have copied south park just cos their episode aired later.11/7/2005 2:24:11 PM |

My favorite episode of all time was when the show opened with Osama bin Laden airing a jihad tape and he couldn't quit laughing. And Stewie beats him up and gets on his tricycle. In first person he goes through afghanistan, then through doom, then through the star wars ice planet battle.
I think that one ended with Cleveland and Quagmire in a boxing ring just like the ending of Rocky.
Hilarious.
I used to be one of those that thought south park was >>>>>>>>>>>>> than family guy... but boy, I sure do love me some family guy now. 11/8/2005 2:44:33 PM |
