We finished assembling the film yesterday and will be doing our first technical screenings tonight, so this is going to be a fun day.

Watched it tonight, but I can't talk about it until after it opens. I'll just say that I personally did not like it and seriously hope that the next movie follows the book.

You shouldn't say you didn't like it. That is talking about it.

Ok, I can talk about it (otherwise it would be difficult to discuss anything at work), I'm just not supposed to mention any specifics. Even though I say I didn't like it doesn't mean anything, I seriously doubt anyone on this board values my opinion enough to influence whether to see a movie or not.

^The CGI I saw in the trailers (especially for the lake people) looked kinda shoddy. How did it hold up?

I pretty much know I'll walk away dissapointed with this one. It was my favotire book, so I'm sure the movie won't live up to the high standard I've set.

Just saw it. I liked it for the most part. it definitely didn't cover as much as the book, but that's to be expected considering how long the damn book is.

I didn't like it very much... they rushed a lot of parts (I know, the book is huge) but they could have spent a little more time developing the relationships between the characters - for example, when ron was mad a harry, hermione's relationship with victor, hagrid's relationship with whats-her name, etc.

If someone didn't read the book, will this movie suck?

I liked the first HP movies, and i've only read the first book (for a class in HS).

I thought it was pretty good. Though, I could have definitely used a bit more development in the characters.

Did anyone else think that Hermoine's acting was just a little shitty?

^I thought her acting was better...this one was funnier though.

brendan gleeson is hilarious, and ralph fiennes is a badass.

the third one is a little more consistent throughout i felt, and my friend thought gambon's dumbledore was terrible... but i think this movie is as good as 3 if not better... and 3 is the better book

the graveyard scene was NAILED.

I liked the movie, but from the beginning I kept thinking it was straying a lot from the book...I went and saw it at IMAX and overall was pretty pleased...the World Quidditch Cup was awesome...too bad they didn't really show any of the game...

so you don't find out that rita was a beetle? And that is how she was getting her scoops?
well that's shitty...that's a kinda big part of the 5th book...how they bribe her, etc...
oh well not that big of a deal...

and it is hard to establish relationships/bonds between characters in a movie...that is where a book has the advantage everytime...

i'm glad to hear they nailed the graveyard scene... i can't wait to see it

I liked the movie some of the people on here just like to be overly critical of movies, but to each their own. I was entertained pretty good adaptation of the book, you can't include everything from the book.

god damn amen. I loved voldemort.

My friend who is a fillm major argues that it could have been made into 2 films with the 1st ending somewhere after the first challenge. If you include everything in the books it could happen.

IMO it would work because the first half movie wouldnt get much accomplished and leave everyone who hasnt read the books hanging.

If you didn't read the book, you'll be asking the person who dragged you into the theatre "Why are they doing... How'd they get from here to... Why is Harry... WTF is this buggery... Wait weren't they friends 30 seconds ago?" and you'll miss half the movie because the pacing is off.

If you read the book, you'll at least know what's SUPPOSED to be going on but every time you see that something completely retarded was added you'll want to throw the chicken fries you snuck into the theatre at the screen. I didn't mind a lot of stuff getting edited out of the movie. There's no way you're going to fit that book into a movie under three hours. But adding stuff that didn't happen that completely changes meanings and relationships later on was ridiculous.

GO SEE IT ANYWAY

THEN YOU CAN AGREE WITH ME ABOUT HOW HORRIBLE IT IS

PS: They could've cut out the Foe Glass since they didn't even use it at the end where it made its most dramatic impact.

Ok, I was very disappointed with the movie. I don't mind that they didn't include everything from the book (let's be honest, the SPEW part was boring anyway) but what they did include was in many cases inaccurate. The special effects were great but the acting sucked (ie: Dumbledore, Krum, and to some extent Prof. Moody). If you like shiny things and large views of the castle this movie is for you; if not, wait till the $1.50

I thought the movie was great.. definitely the best one so far...

But one thing REALLY pissed me the fuck off though.

The whole intro to the quidditch world cup was badass, AND THEN THEY DON"T SHOW THE FUCKING MATCH!!! What The Fuck!!!!!1

I remember when I was reading the book i thought the match was gonna be awesome in the movie, and they cut away from it right as it's about to start.

IMHO I think they could have tacked on another half hour to slow the first half down. I dont care how long the movie is, once voldemort comes back, nobody is wondering how much longer its going to take.

And I really wish they had someone else as dumbledore

It was pretty good. Could have been a bit longer. Myrtle trying to get a gander at Harry's peter was a bit odd.

Daniel Radcliffe can't act for shit. Fleur Delacour has the bomb-ass titties.
