ok, in 2 years when my ipod dies and I replace it with a video one, I'll watch the video 3 more times while I'm riding the bus.

I just don't see anyone building their own mobile mtv, especially at $2 a pop.

Edit on this earlier statement:
You actually can DnD to the Library or any Playlist - just not the "Videos" tab in the source pane.
Very odd behavior.

This morning they were drooling over this on CNN, Bob and Tom (106.1) and Bob and the Showgram (105.1).

In just the hour that I got out of bed and headed into work all three stations I was watching/listening too were talking about the new iPod. (I also listened to NPR but they don't really talk about personal electronics )

My dead pixels got better.

ZOMBIE PIXELS

It should also be noted that these episodes are at less than DVD quality. I just got an episode of Desperate Housewives (because, you know, I'm all full up on That's So Raven), and it's fine, but it's just not comparable to watching a DVD.

That being said I still want to get a new iPod.

Let me know when they put these in cell phones with on-demand content. Then I might pull out my wallet.

A pair of sunglasses with the screen built-in wouldn't hurt either. I don't want to squint at a 2" screen from 3 feet away for long. Oh, and no cords between the phone and the sunglasses. Now that would impress me.

How is this?

I can download songs (and videos I guess) on my treo and play them anytime I have cell phone signal.

Takes a while to do it though. When the EV-DO treo hits, I'll be sportin some high-speed.

They weren't dead then they were just stuck. It turns out that a significant amount of the "dead" pixels on PSPs weren't really dead but just stuck on one color making the overall problem seem much worse than it really was.

There's a video you can download for the psp that just flashes different colors over and over again that helps to unstick the pixels. Or quite often they'll unstick themselves during normal use (as it sounds like yours did)

Overall I think the haters of the PSP like to whine about the LCD quality, but it's not nearly as bad as they'd have you believe. Of the 3 PSPs I've bought, I have 2 with perfect LCDs and one came with 2 stuck pixels which I fixed with the video. So I'm 3/3. But I guess I'm the luckiest person alive.

They're not all for me. I bought one as a graduation present for my sister and then my dad liked it so much I bought one for him (with his money).

I wonder if this will allow studios to put out TV shows that were not originally going to go to DVD.

Some niche shows were not popular enough to warrant a press of DVDs but it would make a lot of sense as an iTunes offer since the cost of "publishing" them this way would be very low/minimal risk.

that'd be cool

^^ You could, but it won't do tracknames or anything. It will just record the audio in... not really what you'd want to use to digitize your collection. Better to use a computer for that sort of thing.
