No one batters an eyelid? I seem to recall a fair amount of discussion over this in the mainstream media.

The difference is that white people aren't vocal over discrimination. American whites have never been the target of oppression, so they aren't as concerned as minorities are over such statements. For example, why is there no white equivalent of the NAACP?

While controversial, you will never hear a majority of whites call it oppression. Whites never suffered through such things as slavery, black codes, Jim Crow, or segregation. The fact that you would even compare affirmative action to any of those is appalling.

Well, actually, I didn't COMPARE affirmative action to ANYTHING. I merely implied that affirmative action is "oppression." Admittedly, it may not rise to the level of other examples of oppression in American history. But I made no comparison in my prior statement.
