im very interested because i read a lot of stuff about them talking about really exploring time signatures (which is something they already do). but i can just imagine meshuggah being meshsed with tool

gd i love tool.

one of the few bands that never disappoint me.

*solid all around imo. im sure there will be much better songs on the cd (as there always is compared to their singles). but as usual drums, guitar, everything sounds great

i gave this "vicarious" track a shot. i have never liked tool. this didn't change my mind. oh well.

they're good musicians, but that doesn't translate into what i consider "good" music. to each their own.

awesome - just listened to vicarious all the way through

as soon as i started playing the song, i got involved in whatever i was reading and forgot what i was listening to because it seemed so natural. that's usually a sign of good music for me. if i listen to something for the first time and say "wtf is this crap," then i can't take my mind off it because it bothers me so much. not so with tool.

i can definitely hear the meshuggah influence. parts of it sound like i'm listening to catch 33.

it's no grudge, stinkfist, or intolerance (tool's opening songs have always been amazing) but it's a solid track. the vocals are a tad APCish. when they said it was going to be heavier, i was thinking shit like ticks and leeches, not just off-time chords. oh well. i like it anyway.

vicarious is fuckin awesome
the vocals were a little odd compared to normal maynard shit but it worked well in the song
