i think if i took an anti-hunter hunting, they'd be surprised at how much sitting around there is
thats what made me like hunting when i was a kid... learning to sit still and quiet, feeling like you're part of the forest, watching the sun come up 11/27/2005 10:07:01 PM |

The main reason I go is to enjoy the outdoors. Not to "destroy an innocent animal" as one anti once told me. Great deer there bethaleigh and the Original Treebark coveralls ROCK. If you bought those somewhere recently let me know. I want a pair! 11/27/2005 10:16:53 PM |

Thanks ACE! Oh no! Those were my Brother's, I'm getting a new pair in the next week or 2. I had to wear his since it was so cold. He's like a foot taller than me, so I had a lot of extra dragging around! lol I was surprised at how the classic stuff worked, seems like the HD would be better, but I really ain't too sure about that now. I bet you could still find them at like Cabella's, Gander Mountain, or a small local hunting supplier though. 11/27/2005 10:27:37 PM |

Thats a hard pattern to find. And the HD stuff is more for our eyes than the deer. All you have to do is break up your outline and almost every camoflage does that. Scent is way more important in my opinion. 11/27/2005 10:40:45 PM |

We used some type of pine scent spray after using a small amount of scentless that morning. But, we were walking to the stand when he came by and the wind was to his back and our face, so we didn't get to really utilize it I don't think! But, there's more time this season to! 11/27/2005 11:11:11 PM |

I would be careful about using a cover scent. My buddies and I have all been busted when having used a scented spray. We stick to just a scent eliminator these days. 11/27/2005 11:49:07 PM |

Dammit. Being a redneck should be required to come to state. All you anti hunters should go hug trees over at UNC. Drive on Trailwood around 0600 if you think deer arent a problem, a tasty problem... 11/28/2005 1:18:46 AM |

Tenderloin is the one part I am not willing to let go of! lol My Dad is the world class chef when if comes to tenderloin, and my boyfriend is next after him! I'm trying to get Dad to have me some deer BBQ made Sunday for me to bring back to Raleigh, if anyone may be interested...no guarantee if I will have it or not, but I can keep ya posted. 11/28/2005 3:01:16 PM |

took 3 on a roll camera, and a few on the digital...why does it matter how many pics I have of my deer? I have only posted 4 of my pics...if more were seen it's because someone wanted to see more and they saw the gallery... [Edited on November 28, 2005 at 10:27 PM. Reason : m]

^You should try touching him before he's dead! lol
^^Hit him in his lower, outer right brisket and out the left armpit. Ran about 100-150 yards...Woulda been right in the neck, but he took a step up onto a risen piece of ground at the same instant I pulled the trigger. Tracking was fun though, I did that by myself since my Dad is color blind.
^^^It didn't bother me a bit, gutting stunk, but it was cool. 11/28/2005 11:48:46 PM |
