Regardless, nobody knew about Tarver's mother, and had no intention of disrespecting her. They were simply trying to get into his head using the academic issues as ammo. 99 times out of 100 when an athlete has academic troubles, it's their own damn fault.

Singing the alphabet is a lot different than "haha your mom died" or something to that effect.

does anyone see the irony in this situation. Everyone is emailing Doyel defending the integrity of academics at nc state... the same thing hewitt was doing for Tarver.

Doyel is laughing his ass off that we're getting offended that he would challenge NC State's academics.... the same thing our fans did to Tarver.

Oh well. I think we lose this round because he got 1000 emails all saying the same thing.

not a bad article. he told me he was going to agree that what I said was unclassy and I said that was fine...just wish he hadn't pulled the freshman card on me at the end, especially since I'm a sophomore now.
And a safety school for me would have been Tennessee, I chose wisely and came to an area I like with a good program for me (and I did choose NC State over a few other, well respected universities). Anyone who pays any attention knows NC State has been going in the right direction with academics, it's harder to get in out of state than people give it credit for.

For all you guys who are all like "it's the same thing if you write to Doyel", not it's not.

Paul Hewitt is the head coach of an established ACC university. He is held to a higher standard than the rest of us, and thus, he cannot react to certain situations the way we can.

It's totally different for me to say fuck you to Greg Doyel because he insults my people than Paul Hewitt insulting those students because they insulted his people.
