Downloading the trail right now. I know this game has been out since 2003 but I really dont see anything on the market that seems worth a damn. A friend at work wants me to become a wow addict but i've played that same jazz in a much better game called ultima online for more than enough years. I would have been playing this a long time ago if I had the computer then. Anywho i'm looking forward to trying out this trade profession. I'll let you guys know who I am once I get everything set up.

i played until the trial ran out.

def some awesome graphics, but the gameplay was monotonous.... talk about "the grind"

i played this game for about two days. the skill training system is kind of a joke to me. way to go level skills by not actually doing anything but just waiting! great.

I liked the game a lot, and I think it had a lot of potential.

Unfortunately, movement control is difficult, going from Point A to Point B in the game usually takes way too long (thank god for auto-pilot), and the overall learning curve is retardedly steep.

It took most of my trial period to even really understand what I was doing.

I do think the game has appeal if you can leave it running while you're doing other stuff (like HW). I'd sit at my desk and work on webassign or study, and just run long trading routes on auto-pilot. Since it'd take 5-10 minutes to make all the system jumps, I could just let it run and do other things. Look up for a few minutes, dock, trade, set a new course, and punch the auto-pilot button.

Sit back and watch the stress-free isk come rolling in. I heart trading.

On a side note, does the game run in Vista 64?

actually i dunno if it works in vista... i would assume so, they were doing a bunch with dx9 and dx10 so i would assume (dx10) that it works in vista adequately....

like WoW is any different....

anyways I still play.

the real fun is in 0.0 space with a corp/alliance, that's where you get the big battles, good NPC's, good asteroids, and soon, best missions. (NPC things)

i do NOT reccomend autopiloting through 0.0 space or lowsec, you will get killed and podded....

however you can make A LOT of isk by shipping out high value t2 items out to 0.0 space stations

Since just starting i'm feeling the grind aspect of it hard, especially due to my initial mistakes in the beginning. I bought an industrial iteron hauler but then found out when i looked at its info i cant pilot it for another 3 days. I had to by gellente industrial skill first and train 3 skills up first, so i'm stuck in my sucky starting ship. The only thing i can really do now is courier jobs which suck. I try combat missions if they're doable though, however most aren't with my wimpy one gunned velator. I've learned about 0.4 and below space and how to gate through them faster. It's easy, turn the auto-pilot off and manually warp to within 0 meters of the gate then instant jump.

Its definitely a challenging do it all yourself game, but it's been very interesting and even relaxing so far. What really appeals to me is the massive battles taking place in 0.0 space. Too bad I got a lot of isk to get before I can venture out there. Right now i got to play the market.

it does when you add/change guns.... it just doesn't for other things

yeah you guys definitely need to get into a a corporation and make some contacts that can greatly increase your fun factor in the game

your market sucks b/c there are not enough people in your area.... down in catch you can make isk hand over fist on the market alone

The trail for eve isn't really useful. I learned that i cant get a specialized vehicle like my hauler yet since you cant train those skills in trail mode. So to pass the time i bought a regular frigate with some weapons and i've started training all the learning skills. Good thing is that i've joined a corp and the guy hooked me up with some isk (200k or so). I now have almost 2 mil on my second day Btw these pirate missions are really fun when you got someone helping you too.

try zooming out all the way?

Any one get word whether the first Rorqual's been built. I know the blue prints came out last patch. I'd love to just fly around it and see what it looks like.
