^no he doesnt

you know it.

LOL. The next MJ?

WTF?

who ever, ever, ever thought that?

I just want good players on the team who WANT to play basketball, not save thier energy for baseball.

That's kind of shitty to question the kids effort. Most of you, myself included, have no idea how hard it is to play ONE sport and goto school, let alone TWO sports.

I don't think it's an effort question. I think it's a talent question. Not everyone can put up 20 and 10 at a drop of a hat. He is what he is. A solid addition to the team who seems to be a hard worker (to me)...

jesus christ, I wasnt being completely literal, catch the drift dude.

everyone built him up sooooooo much at the beginning of the season like he was going to be the leader of the team (and yes people LITERALLY did say that).

just because he didnt meet everyone's expectations does not mean he did not give it his all.

he can give it his all in basketball while he's playing and still have baseball as his first love.

but what would I do if I were him?

this is the exact scenario:

I would hustle my ass off in the Tourney
I would give the fans something to look forward to for next year
then if Herb is forced out of Raleigh after this year (which I expect to happen), I would hold a press conference to say that I can't play basketball for you fans.
then I would quit the basketball team and focus on baseball full-time and make the asshole fans who drove Herb out of town wonder what could have been had I stayed around for another season

but seriously. MLB is where is future is at. he will not go pro in basketball. basketball is just a hobby for him right now. probably something to prove a point or to stay in shape for baseball. you should have a heart-to-heart with him and tell him the john kruk, his #1 fan, says to give up basketball and stick with baseball

nym is correct :x I haven't seen, personally, him half-ass anything. I think he should do what he enjoys and help out. Obviously if he's getting minutes he's not a detriment to the team :x

Baseball is where he should end up. but basketball's not so bad in the middle.

yea he wants to play:

vs. Boston College
10 minutes 1-3 FG 2 points

vs. Wake
25 minutes 2-10 4 points

vs. Wake (ACC TOURNEY)
7 minutes 0-0 0 points

He is really giving 100%

With that said, even though he is/was a tremendous asset to the team and our philosophy, I would really like him to succed in Baseball. It is obvious that that is what he truly loves.

I do appreciate everything that he has done for our b-ball team. He had a huge shot in last years tourney, maybe he has one more in him!

i SINCERELY apologize for the "lack of effort/hustle" comments. i am seriously a big fan of his, i even wished him well when I met him at Talley the summer before his freshman year

I just want what's best for my Andrew. and it seems that baseball is where it's at

BTW, please tell him to consider wearing an "I HATE WOLFPACK BASKETBALL FANS" t-shirt to the press conference if he does decide to give up basketball

i will make the damn shirt for him

so, that was a stupid point for panthro to make

Panthro,

You are a moron. Are points the only way to measure a player's performance?

Brack has shown as much hustle and determination as anyone on the team. His minutes are just as vital as anyone else's.

Just look down the road at Wake Forest and realize what our season could have been. They probably have more "talent" than State and will be showing it in the NIT.

no doubt, but when you are missing layups and dunks and 2 foot shots when you are like 6'10", unacceptable, you shouldnt be on the team, he consistently plays like he is 6'1 under the basket

I wonder if fatigue played a role? A few of my friends that played baseball in the Big East played in the Cape Cod wooden bat leagues in the summer and all fall as well. I don't know if Brack did a summer baseball league like that but playing two sports year round and going to school can make you VERY tired I'd bet..

I agree.

but 7 minutes in a crucial ACC tourney game?

his hustle and determination are negated if he doesnt ever get the chance to use them.

I know he cant decide when he plays but this all started when baseball season started. I just think he could do more.

All of those plays with Ced at the top of the key vs Boston College, Brackman would have been perfect in that situation...I know its herb's decision and all but damn....he always used to be so quick to get Brackman in there...now he just rides the pine.

WTF gives?

no excuse, dont play 2 sports if you cant hack it, i dont want people on a team who are half assing it he may very well be tired, i dont care, not my problem, dont play 2 sports then

i am sure he is nice enough a guy and I would be happy playing jsut one sport in college, let alone 2

but i am sorry it is just no excuse man, NO EXCUSE

So that is what you are basing your effort estimate on. Hell, I could give 1000% at my current skill level and:

vs. Millbrook High
40 minutes 0-20 0 points

i know man, and i agree no one can make a judgment about him giving complete effort, i assume he does for the benefit of the doubt, but when you start playing like you are 6'1 under the boards when you are like 6'10, eye brows are gonna raise, thats all

well correct me if I'm wrong, but he can declare in this next MLB draft, right?

if so, he should whoop some ass for Pack Baseball and take it to the next level

then you two should start making kids immediately

b) You are FINISHED with your JR or SR year

i think the herb hating has gotten to such a high level now that i don't think there's any way he'll stay. i'm glad he gets pissed off at the stupid fans for asking questions like that. i really wish he would hold a press conference and tell the fans to go to hell. i just hope he stays though.
