Since I can't edit the previous post anymore.

Quote :
"I was probably the crazy driver yelling at you for coming on the back door if was in 2002, and (as another poster said) I'm glad you remembered. It is very unsafe and against Connex's policy (as of then) for that reason.

Also, it screws up the count...

BTW, none of you should be complaining about the Wolfline. Right now, I work for AppalCART in Boone and it's about 5 times worse than the Wolfline having a bad day.... So unsafe...

"

Really? Somehow.........no i think i'll keep bitchin. I'll keep bitchin till I no longer have to worry about any NCSU student getting on a bus where....

The tires are worn so thin they blow out when another person steps on the bus.
The brakes are so fucked up that they give out and the bus then hits another car.
Drivers can drive well enough I'm not spending the entire ride praying and he doesnt JUMP THE FUCKIN CURB.
They actually bother to put repairs in on things like doors, breaks, y'know..the essentials.

Because frankly I dont feel like spending yet another time on a wolfline when a cop has to show up to get all our names and check everyone out because the driver couldn't drive and hit something or the bus failed in a critical way and thus hit something.

I dont live in Boone, I live in Raleigh. Sure there are places that are worse, gladly agreed, but just because I dont live in bum-fuck-poor wherever, third world country, doesnt mean I'm going to say "oh it's okay"

And if you were the bus driver, i was on that bus but not the kid who got in the back. I wouldnt want to fess up personally to screaming yelling and generally going apeshit instead of handling a situation with any sense of professionalism or effectiveness.

You realize that if the brakes fail the bus will stop, thats how air brakes function.
Also, tires are checked before every use.

If air pressure is lost, the brakes will lock. If the brakes fail the bus won't stop.

I love the people that get on the centennial shuttle at the gym and want to get off at the top of the hill, then they get pissed and have to ride all the way around cause they dont stop there...

I laugh so hard inside everytime...

Yesterday a worker was getting on at the gym and when we turned left onto Varsity... he said "cant you stop here?" at the first stop close to avent ferry... the lady slowed down and said, "you want to get off here? we dont stop here" and sped back up...

my favorite character? i would have to say...... the guy rockin out to 80's on his ipod which is playing so loud that everyone half way up the bus can hear it. that guy is gay

I thought the people who get on at the gym and then get off at the top of the hill were lazy, but I've found one even worse. These two girls got on the bus at the sheltered stop at wolf village and then got off at the other wolf village stop before gorman. wtf.

my favorite characters are the azn chicks who happen to be on a bus with a fucked up chime/lighted sign. where the cord is pulled and the chime sounds but the lights doesnt stay on. they pull the damn cord over and over again till the bus actually stops, and you can hear the bus driver bitchin at em the whole time.

-hobo got on the vet school bus and started annoying the bus driver and some girls up at the front of the bus. he wouldn't shut up about the fair and was pretty creepy. then he randomly saw another hobo on the road, who was his friend from colorado. so the driver just stopped in the middle of the road and dropped him so he could greet his friend. weird.

-a stupid girl wasn't paying attention and walked into the path of the vet bus on hillsborough street. we all thought she was dead but we just missed her.

-i sat on the vet school bus for 45min to an hour one night because we were trying to bypass fair traffic by going on the highway part of wade avenue. shit was looong

So last Wednesday I'm sitting on the Wolflink, waiting for it to leave the Wolf Village shelter. For some unknown reason, the driver deploys the wheelchair ramp. And then he can't get it to retract, so we're not going anywhere. Several minutes later, the next bus comes. Everyone exits the bus with the malfunctioning ramp and boards the other one. When we leave the driver is still trying to get that ramp up. This other bus makes it as far as the Student Health Center before the front door malfunctions, and won't open. The driver makes everyone get off. Hilarious.

To anyone who rides the Westgrove bus, who the hell is that cross-dressing guy? He wears low-rider jeans, has long hair, painted finger and toe nails, and he perpetually smells like booze and cigarettes. At least, I'm guessing he's a dude.

Haha, I laugh at these people too. In fact, I laugh at anybody who pulls the cord on the Centennial Shuttle. It stops at the same series of stops regardless, you don't have to pull the freakin' cord!

Anyone ever ride that Southeast Loop where the back seats and walls sway sideways when the bus turns? You can actually see the sides of the bus bending.

Today on the Centennial Shuttle on the way back to main campus the bus driver was driving like a bat out of hell. The bus was full with about 8 people standing in the aisle. She ends up slamming on the brakes near Poe in order to not rear end some car in front of us. Both rows of people end up in like the front 8 seats. And the guy sitting in the middle of the bench seat in the back is throw head over heels forward to about the rear door.

bttt because goddamn the summer buses are fucked up.

Seriously. Because Dan Allen got shut down everything's been rerouted to the perimeter of campus. And since they closed down Yarborough, the Centennial Shuttle doesn't go by Current & Stinson or Harrelson anymore, which just makes it a pain in the ass to catch a bus to Engineering from main campus at all if you're not near Brooks Hall. And none of them go by the gym anymore, either.

^Damn I was gonna go to the post office on Hillsborough during lunch tomorrow, thanks for posting that, looks like I will be going on Wednesday instead. All the buses that come to Centennial go through that intersection.

You'd think that they would do that kind of stuff on a weekend or late at night or something when traffic would be lighter.

night/weekend work costs more. DOT doesn't give a rats ass about a few hundred cars being inconvenienced if it saves them some cash. now work on say, I-85 has to occur at night or weekends or half the damn state would end up gridlocked.

fall routes are out.
village link (formerly rt 11; limited service, stopping at Wofl Village, King village, colleges of textiles and engineering) is now combined with centennial (old rt 2).

Oldest rt 3A/current rt 10, centennial shuttle, is eliminated.

centennial shuttle (don't know its current number) is now rt 2, the engineering route.

the mid day shuttle that used to not serve WV does now.

Southeast is now the only bus to take from textiles over to the brickyard area, and will take 20 minutes.
better hope you didn't count on the centennial route to get you over there with a quickness when planning your schedule.

I hate how the fraternity court bus goes down Western to Gorman and down Hillsborough to the Library. Not a single person gets on or off after Ivy Commons. Now that its open, just go up Dan Allen and right to the Library and you will save State probably $100 of gas a day and alot of people an extra 10 minutes of bus riding.

and maybe they're going up that way, for frat ct, to eliminate the lazies that get on on dan allen to get up to hillsborough.

i hate that those fuckers took away my centennial campus bus, especially since i live right off of frat ct. now there's only one bus that goes up frat ct. that takes you to D.H. Hill and that's the Frat Ct. bus. if you have a 9:10 class and you don't get out there for at least the bus that comes around 8:40, you're pretty much SOL b/c the bus will be packed to the brim and just drive on by.

plus the new guy on the Frat. Ct. bus bitched at me when i got up to go to the front of the bus to tell him that he missed the Varsity stop. the guy with a little bit of a cockeye that drove the Centennial bus last year was great. he was on point, usually very nice, and was cool to talk to every now and then when you were pretty much the only person on the bus.

yeah it takes me 25 minutes to walk from my apartment to the brickyard if i walk fairly fast. but why walk when i can take the bus and be there in 5-7 minutes. i just thinks it's stupid that they took the centennial bus away, when the previous semesters they would already have the Frat Ct. buses filled to capacity before they get to the Frat Ct. stop for anyone wanting to get to campus for a 9:10 class. i usually get out there early though like 9:20-9:30.
