is there a torrent of the "other 10 songs" or whatever. i saw an interview where they said they were originally going to do a trilogy of cd's and release one every 6 months, but realized that after a year and a half they'd probably be writing new material already, so they went ahead and released 28 songs now.

said the other 10 would probably appear on b-sides or something. anyone know if they leaked yet?

I bought it to have something new to listen to on a roadtrip this weekend. Listened to it about 6 times.

I like!

That's the case for a lot of rock songs. There are 24 major/minor keys, and a few cadences that really sound good in each key. There are thousands of rock songs published each year. It's only a matter of time before stuff starts getting repeated.

I understand that, but when you hear them right after each other, its almost the exact song.. not to mention some of the same lyrical themes are there

with these \/

won them in a contest on the RHCP website apparently...

they came in the mail on friday and caught me by complete suprise, I didn't even know i was signed up for this contest.

yeah, 1st they played Can't Stop, then some jam("yeah, we have no idea what we're about to play"), then Dani California, then the race started back and they were like "aight, time for one more," so they played Tell Me Baby

Dani California is good. Storm In a Teacup is pretty good.

Hey and If are lame.

The verdict is still out, I guess, until I hear some more from the album.

I wish they'd get back more to their roots, though. I listened to Mother's Milk last night...THAT's a solid RHCP album.

The quote I heard from the band was, "If you don't like this album, then you don't like Red Hot Chili Peppers."

well, maybe the rest of the album is batting more than .400-.500

but if not, i maintain that i'm a die hard fan of the old skool RHCP, and like about 30-50% of the new stuff.

WHO IN THE FUCK SAID THAT

they are absolutely awesome live, and ^^yea, this is the fucking shit, the songs have a lot of different feels to them, really captures rhcp as a whole. Hey-O (not sure if that's the name) is so awesome, it's songs like that that really make me like them as much as I do. The ability to have a lot of upbeat, funky songs, and then compliment it with songs like that requires such a great range of artisitic expression.

/end rhcp cock licking now

I'm not saying that I want every RHCP song to sound like Johnny Kick A Hole In the Sky, Suck My Kiss, Nobody Weird Like Me, Power Of Equality, or Catholic Schoolgirls Rule.

i just like stuff like Breaking the Girl, I Could've Lied, Pretty Little Ditty, Behind the Sun, Under The Bridge, Soul To Squeeze, or even the newer stuff like [/i]Californication/Scar Tissue[/i] more than the totally castrated sound they have when they've lightened up on the last couple of albums.

I ran over to the seats right where they were performing b/c I had a feeling they wouldn't turn the speakers on for everyone else. When I got back over to my seats a little while later (turn 2), everyone was pissed b/c they couldn't hear the song.

Guess I'll throw in my two cents... I've been a chili peppers fan since mothers milk; I dig the old chili peppers style aswell as the new, and I think Stadium Arcadium is theiebest album thus far. I really like the blend of their new style with their older, funk/rock style. Plus I love the fact that I have 28 fuckin songs to sift through.

Their albums are kinda weird. The first time you listen to them, there are 3 to 4 songs that you like and the rest are kind of meh. But then after a month your listening through the whole CD and skipping the ones that were originally your favorites.

Can anyone figure out why they gave the CD's such symbolic names? The songs are not that much different for it to be a tyger and lamb kind of contrast.
