bullshit, gordon was an ass before he even won a single race....stuck up. (Jr. is the same way).
The new generation of drivers are like this, #8 was handed popularity, he never earned it. Thus he doesn't care about the people. Honestly, Nascar is falling apart. The new drivers are assholes, all the rules are different, and everything seems to be set up. Do you think the NFL would change the value of a touchdown, and then make a rule that a midget has to kick the field goal? That is about how bad the rule changes have become.

added extra, 10 years ago there was only 1 exit to that track since it was in the mountains, so if you didn't leave early, you had at least 4 hours of waiting time (unless you were Dale Earnhardt and had a Helicopter)

Remember one race one night...he got wrecked and lost 3 laps. 100 Laps to go, he was down 3 laps starting at the back of the field.........motherfucker made up ALL 3 laps and was 3 car lengths away from the leader when the checker flag fell. Amen. We can add in California, Michigan, New Hampshire in that sentence, and also put Kansas in there (yes they only have 1 race) because that race is awful. They don't need any Michigan remakes, or Charlotte/Atlanta cookie cutter remakes. Those 3 tracks are enough 1.5 miles/2 miles tracks needed for NASCAR.

^yep....even in the Nascar games, you use the same set ups for cali and michigan. I have been to two races at Michigan, they sucked...always comes down to gas. I like charlotte, they fucked the atlanta track up when they got bought out and made it just like charlotte, and then they made texas(same owners) just like charlotte.

I'm not a Gordon fan, just a Hendrick fan b/c of Jimmie Johnson... frankly I'd like to see more short track racing, either at old tracks, "The Rock," or new challenging courses that push the envelope in different ways. Obviously, it's true that a car that runs well are Daytona would run at Talledega, and Charlotte=Atlanta=Texas... The sport is alive and well and running, but I'd like to see one or two more road tracks.

they got rid of all of the old carolina short tracks and orginals, because nascar got so big that making the same track over out west has become worth more than classic racing.

Jimmie, his owner is gordon, contracted in by gordon to hendrick. Personally there should be a rule about that in Nascar(like other sports)....and yes, I am an Earnhardt fan, and yes he started it with DEI! I do not agree with that, and rule changes over the last couple of years..

This is not the case at all. Atlanta is very similar to Texas, yes, however the pavement on each has different ages. At Atlanta, running the high line becomes the place to be, while at Texas, the low groove is generally still the best way around.

Charlotte is extremely different from these two. It may be a 1.5 mile like them but it drives completely different. The corners have a more narrow radius which feels completely different.


On another note, Pocono is fun for the drivers and all but it sure is boring to watch. The only races that are more single file than Pocono are the road courses.

They altered Atlanta to look like charlotte, and they could have made texas like 1.6 miles or something, at a little spice to it. No two tracks could ever be the same, even if you tried to make them. But in general, charlotte, atlanta, and texas are way to close.
