I sold my '96 Discovery earlier this year to get a Honda, which isn't as good for style points (though the car is pretty slick), it saves me a shit-ton at the pump and also with repairs. I really loved my Disco, but I couldn't afford that mofo. I miss being able to take my ride off-road.

But, I used to take my LR to Rover Club House, and they always did a very solid job with the work, even if Iit was just general maintenance. Nice people, nice facility..but kinda hard to find.

Yeah I daily drove mine for a couple weeks and it sucks. My mpg isnt too bad, and the 3.5 is pretty dependable, but its got real low power.

Yeah we are in the cut but that will change before too much longer. Oh and we are damn good with the Rovers too.

I have the set and I painted them chassis black. They have holes where you can take some angle iron and sheet steel and make a front skid plate just like the one I have on my truck.

1988 Land Rover Range Rover

The truck currently has:
RTE 3" springs
Procomp shocks (rears are brand new)
RTE radius arms and rear links
OME steering stabilizer
QT front diff guard
RTE rear a-arm spacer
D90 diff guard on rear
Hella 500s
Terrain Master front winch bumper
Flowmaster copy
K&N air filter
nearly new 285/75R16 Yokohama Geolandar M/T on D1 alloys

Befefits to the 1988 model: Its a SWB, shares many parts with a disco. Also, comes factory with the LT230 transfer case (center diff lock) and sans the trouble prone ABS system. The stock 10 spline rear differential and axles that are known for breaking have been upgraded to the stronger 24 spline versions.

The truck used to have dual batteries and safari gard rocksliders on it, and it would be easy to convert back to this style setup. The previous owner had the headliner redone, and I must admit the sunroof works just fine. I just put in a Pioneer CD player and Sony front speakers with Alpine Type S rears (6.5"). The truck also has custom made rear storage boxes to hold a meduim sized toolbox, first aid kit, etc.... Ill get pics to illustrate tomorrow.

The tach is dead, the odometer is dead, it has an aftermarket oil pressure and water temp guage installed. The truck has approximately 170k on it. New water pump, battery, alternator, recently serviced AC system. YES THE AC WORKS! I use the hell out of it on the trail and the engine never goes over 190 degrees.

Almost forgot, the rear window motors are dead but I have good ones I will throw in on the sale.

Anyhow, the inside isnt much to drool over. It looks pretty good outside, its been painted Fire Rat Red. OK I made that up but I call the truck RON Burgundy. The window tint and the late model wheels really set it off.

$3800 OBO

Pictures coming.

This bodystyle started in 1970 and ended in mid-'95. Hence the 'classic' in the title Range Rover Classic.
