Repost for page three:

Quote :
"Sources have confirmed to WFOR-TV in Miami that conservative talk show host has been detained at Palm Beach International Airport for the possible possession of illegal prescription drugs.

Limbaugh was returning on a flight from the Dominican Republic when they found the drugs, among them Viagra."

http://kdka.com/topstories/topstories_story_177203957.html

Good cocaine in the Dominican Republic.

And oh yeah, LOCK HIM UP AND THROW AWAY THE KEY.

VOf course we don't know what they are yet...actually we kinda do know because we know how addiction works.

it's a little premature to judge the merits of this story. The real question is what kind of prescription drugs, for all we know they were antibiotics or something non-narcotic. I hope he's kicked the habit, it'd be a shame, a true loss for conservative america.

his opinions are not derived from a drug addiction so my guess is no. My concern is that his political insight would diminish as his addiction grew out of control. I've seen some people close to my family just wither away as a result of that sort of addiction. It's a huge problem, a lot people get hooked like Rush did as a result of a surgery. I must say I'd be surprised because Rush has not sounded much different than he ever has, so if he has an addiction he's hiding it well for the most part.

it's funny to contrast the attitude of the media to Rush getting caught with drugs verses say Snoopy Dog-Dog etc... insert music figure here. Of course Rush is held to a higher standard, wether that's fair or not we can debate.

The weird thing is just last week(or two maybe) a caller was discussing his rehab with him. He was pretty open about it. Said some things about understanding addiction that probably would make you libs gush (well coming from someone less typifiying the source of all conservative evil and ignorance )

Not really. The pool of people willing to peddle in rumor, half-truth, innuendo, and deliberate falsification is deep. This is why professional pundits seem to be so upset with the rise of the blogosphere--they are cheaply replaced.

not at all. The "pundits" are all in favor of the free exchange of information. It's the evening news and the MSM you're thinking of. The "pundits" are responsible for breaking their monopoly of information, the MSM no longer controls the news, as much as they try to make it up. The blogosphere cuts both ways, we've no reason to fear it.

Let's make a list of famous republican talk show hosts who are hypocrites:

1.Rush Limbaugh- drug addict
2.Bill O'Reily-pervert
3.Dr. Laura-whore
4.G. Gordon Liddy-Crook

Last time I checked the political blogosphere were leaches on the MSM's back. Heavy on commentary but little in the way of actual reporting. My point was that the internet has shown that people will do for free what your Limbaughs or your David Brooks are highly payed to do.

a more correct account of the story can br found at

http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20060627/ap_on_en_ot/limbaugh_viagra;_ylt=Alya1XTBO.yaLDQdU97nCTCs0NUE;_ylu=X3oDMTA3b2NibDltBHNlYwM3MTY-

to summarize, he did not have any painkillers and the Viagra was for him prescribed by his doctor who did not put the name on it for privacy's sake. Another example of responsible media conduct, all in good taste. Good grief that original linked story could not be more slanted, ah ha it's CBS nuff said.

^From your source:
Quote :
"Miller said the alleged violation could be a second-degree misdemeanor. The sheriff's office
was investigating and will soon turn the case over to the state attorney's office, which had no immediate
comment Tuesday.

Under the deal reached last month with prosecutors, Limbaugh was not to be arrested for any infraction for
18 months in exchange for authorities deferring a charge of "doctor shopping."
Prosecutors had
alleged the conservative talk-show host illegally deceived multiple physicians to receive overlapping
painkiller prescriptions."

perhaps you might try reading the article before misrepresenting it.

Quote :
"Limbaugh's lawyer, Roy Black, said the prescription was written in his doctor's name "for privacy purposes." The conservative radio host was released without being charged and investigators confiscated the Viagra, which treats erectile dysfunction.

Limbaugh joked about the search on his radio show Tuesday, saying Customs officials didn't believe him when he said he got the pills at the Clinton Library and he was told they were blue M&Ms. He later added, chuckling: "I had a great time in the Dominican Republic. Wish I could tell you about it."

It is generally not illegal under Florida law for a physician to prescribe medication in a third party's name if all parties are aware and the doctor documents it correctly, said Mike Edmondson, a spokesman for the state attorney in Palm Beach County. He would not discuss specifics in the Limbaugh case Tuesday."

I have even boldened the important phrases to help shake you from your willful ignorance on this story.

We can make all the accusations we want, and even if they don't pan out, he'll still be a Viagra-popping fornicator.

So the only time somebody's sex life should be in the spotlight is when it involves a conservative?

Clinton gets blowjob in the Oval Office - it's just sex, it's nobody's business
Jesse Jackson fathers a child with his secretary - that's between Jackson and his wife, and after all it's just sex, everybody does it!
Rush is found with viagra - OMG!11! I bet he was like, doing it with prostitutes and stuff!11!

But of course, with most of you people, it's the seriousness of the allegation that matters, not the evidence.

^ I'm just pointing out the double standard I'm noticing here. If it's ok for liberals to go around and have their gay sex orgies and screw women half their age then why can't republicans fool around too? In fact, given the attitudes of many on here about sex I would think Rush would be heralded for stepping into your idea of what you think is normal behavior.

It's not fine for Clinton to have extramarital relations.

It's also and equally not fine for Rush to have premarital sexual relations.

^^^^^^^^(8) yes because Rush is just a hypocritical mean-spirited conservative and all he talks about is how bad junkies are and about how we should all scorn them. It's not like he has said within the last month that he recently learned to appreciate the struggle of an adict to loose their addicition. He couldn't do that though because your Straw-Rush is just an ignorant meany.

Why don't you brainiacs try listening to him for a while before leveling baseless claims.
