It wasn't SUPER awesome, but it certainly didn't suck. The ending was a little annoying.

I hope you die in a car accident tonight. I said, "this is not my review...but..."

I was merely sharing a review from someone else, to get other opinions.

I thought the movie was pretty damn awesome. I've been spending all week promoting this movie, so im glad it's as successfull as it is.

either way, you got way too upset/excited about this. Not like no one else on this whole thread said they didn't think it was that great. (as a matter of fact, the review i posted even said, it was ok, NOT horrible) So fuck you!

Mixed SPOILERS and opinion below

i was all about it for the first hour or so...but from about the point that will turner gets the key until the very end i was wanting it to hurry up a bit.

and the ending blew...i wanted a bit more resolution than that...it's fine to have a sequel to this one, but i felt like i had just finished watching 24...i was pissed.

special effects were great though...and i did laugh a lot. i give it a B overall.

not only him and the monkey, but in addition the two that were along with the crew that stole the chest at the end/fighting along with elizabeth against davey jones' crew (fat guy and one eyed dude)...they were also part of the undead crew in the first one.

Pirates 2 was way too long. too many slow spots, and obviously not as original as the first. i found the last hour to be much more entertaining than the first part. overall 6/10

^^ but they didnt die in the first one. they just stayed mortal.

the crew didnt die, they just became not-undead. Barbosa however was shot in the heart.

I mean

In a movie where a giant octopus commanded by a squid-headed Captian eats a pirate ship, I think an undead monkey and a comic book death aren't really of concern.

Dude did you just call the cray-ken an octopus??? It's got waaaaaaay more feet than that !!

I think Jones was an octopus and the kraken was a millipus. Or at least a centipus.

The monkey is undead because it's still cursed from the Aztec gold. He grabbed a peice after the credits in the first movie.

Look.

Okay, so there were 12 dice. That means, with three players, it's 4 per person. Okay?

Now, the point of the game is to accurately guess how many Xs will be revealed when all of the cups are uncovered (based on your 4 dice only). The highest bet therefore is 12 of anything, meaning that all the dice have the same number showing (in this case, fives). Hence, his dad jumping to the bet of 12 immediately means that Davy would call his bluff (since 12 of anything is nearly impossible), and that his father had lost. There's no real "winner" in the game, only a loser.

k I wans't sure if he just called his bluff or what not. I figured that's how the game went but the arbitrary choice of fives , and it randomly ending threw me off.

It wasn't arbitrary at all. Usually, when betting, you start with ones, then move to higher numbers. At that stage, they were up to fives. The last possible bet, if nobody has called anyone on 12 so far, is 12 sixes.

None of you played this when you were younger?

Barbosa is no longer dead because he has been to the place that sparrow is right now. Hence the reason that he knows how to get there to save Jack.

Quote :
"Below the thunders of the upper deep;
Far, far beneath in the abysmal sea,
His ancient, dreamless, uninvaded sleep
The Kraken sleepeth: faintest sunlights flee
About his shadowy sides: above him swell
Huge sponges of millennial growth and height;
And far away into the sickly light,
From many a wondrous grot and secret cell
Unnumber’d and enormous polypi
Winnow with giant arms the slumbering green.
There hath he lain for ages and will lie
Battening upon huge seaworms in his sleep,
Until the latter fire shall heat the deep;
Then once by man and angels to be seen,
In roaring he shall rise and on the surface die."

Went to see it today. I enjoyed it, thought it was right on par with the first one.

The only thing that annoyed me was the fortune teller's accent. I had to listen too hard to hear what she said.

I'm still confused about how Davy Jones became Davy Jones

So if the Kraken was after Jack and the 'spot', then when he was paddling away the Kraken would be after him and not the Pearl. Hence handcuffing him to the ship doesn't make sense because it cant just be after Jack or they have a big plot hole.

bit of a spoiler...

^Yeah I thought the same thing, but I think Jones' command was to bring the Pearl to the bottom of the ocean. I think she was merely trying to get rid of Jack, for a mixture of what he did to Will and because of her feelings for him.

the die game they were playing is like another game I've played before.

Basically they each had about five die under their cups, and you go around the circle bidding on what you think you have between all of you. For example, if you and I are playing, we each have 5 dice, I bet that there are 3 "2's" showing. If you think I'm wrong, you can call me on it. If there are 3 or more 2's showing, then I would win. If there wasn't, I would lose. However, you can increase the bet by either choosing 3 of a number higher than 2, or increase the number of dice showing and call any number. Example, I bet 3 "2's", you bet 3 "5's". At this point, I cannot say anything lower than 3 "5's", meaning I would either have to say 3 "6's", or 4 of any die number. Which is why davy was about to call out young turner on the 8 5's when bootstrap chimed in 12 5's. He did that so davy didn't have a chance to call out turner before the next bet had been made.

I really have no idea why I spent so much time explaining that, you could have easily looked it up.

well they had also just shot cannon balls through it's tenticles... it could have been a hair distracted.

Also the situation surrounding his heart in the box was throughly explained in the movie
