Beating Shenmue and then waiting for Shenmue II to come out...

Dreamcast got discontinued... never thought I would see the real ending...

Finally came out on Xbox... Few years later I bought an Xbox and waited to find the game cheap.

Finally got Shenmue II and spent months chipping away at it.

Play 5 hours straight and fall asleep on the couch, my gf's roomate comes out and turns off the game, I had not saved a good hour + half of play...that sucked.

Get to the ending and realize there is gonna be a Shenmue 3

Realizing there is not going to be a Shenmue 3, until just now when I searched and it has been announced for PS3 and/or Xbox360... making it the most expensive series ever.

I have had a 55 consecutive win streak in Street Fighter Alpha 2.

I actually defeated Chupon in the Coliseum in FF3, but only did it once. Shadow is the only one capable of pulling it off, and you have to start "training" him just as soon as he joins you.

haha, yeah I remember this, did it before

lets see, weird shit

first kid on the block to find the negative world on mario 1

ended blaster master using only 2 lives

in grade school, one of my teachers had chip's challenge on the class compter. over the course of the school year, I beat 98 of the 149 levels

same computer, once solved the puzzle on Wheel of Fortune with the letters "SP" (it was sparkling mineral water; that puzzle had been on the real life WoF just two days before)

I remember that 'weird symbol' stuff from Super Mario World. In Forest of Illusion one, in that spot with the three worm things, it's easy to float around and keep knocking their flowers off, float off screen, come back and knock them off some more. After racking up a bunch of lives, it starts giving you tons of coins and points, showing strange glitch graphics and stuff.

Anyway, I actually finished Metropolis Street Racer

Better than me, that's for sure.

I take it you mean after he talked? Because all those big characters were easy since you could kill them before they talked to you. But then, that game was never as much about heads up combat.

also forgot to mention:

beat M. Bison on SFII, level 7, with two perfects. Brother (8 yrs older than me) told me that you could unlock a character named "Mr. Wizard" if you did that... BOY was I disappointed when it just went straight to Blanka's ubergay anklet ending.

I did this too, although I don't know how much of a "victory" it is considering I used the official strategy guide to find them all.

Actually, I've collected all of the figurines several times. It just goes to show you that I have too much time on my hands.

the arcade version of virtua tennis with one quarter. too bad losers who had to pay more quarters and continue got a higher score bc they kept their points from lost games.

^^^

those challenges are some of the most fun and most difficult things in FPS history.

(in case its news to anyone, the developers at rare that made 007/dark left to form free radical who did the timesplitters series)

I begged my roomate for 48 hours straight for his WoW beta account.

I had to talk him out of selling it, after I realized how much I enjoyed the game.

In FFIII, I leveled up my entire 4-person party to level 99 with 9999 hit points. Giving Terra the atmaweapon with the genji glove and the offering was unstoppable.

This man is a diety.

I think I made it to the last stage w/o using any lives but ended up using a continue while trying to find the correct last portal. I also did it WITHOUT the cheating method where you pause the game while the boss was taking dmg, especially boss 7 (scorpion round 2).

It's real easy to lose a life just from dropping too far. I don't think I've ever been more meticulous playing a game... the double perfect on SFII was pure luck.

Nice. I leveled Sabin up to 99 and gave him a Genji Glove and a Black Belt - my favorite combination ever since you didn't dare touch him. I would then use him to singlehandedly hunt Brachosaurs for fun.

I think the only thing I can claim is the time I was playing Mario Kart 64 and I beat the Wario Stadium time trial in 53 seconds, with a best lap time of 9 seconds.

That's kinda lame, but I'm sort of a subpar nerd.
