^^it doesnt have the wireless network adaptor. that doesnt make it equal because thats a substitutive item for the ethernet cord that comes with it.

ps3 graphics will blow 360 away. i think xbox will do better because it is more "in", marketable and overall more user friendly than ps3 will be. ps3 seems like it will be primarily owned by hardcore gamers while xbox is more of a social thing with xbox live and all. then overall "entertainment system" route microsoft took with it.

how come everyone glazed over that the ps3 is bigger than the original xbox and weighs nearly 2x as much.

^ I think the purpose of the slim PS2 was to correct the DRE problems that the original was having. It also has ethernet built-in and threw away the extra space for a HDD.

If they do a redesign of the PS3 later on down the road, it'll probably be taking out some of the extra crap they put in there that might not be getting lots of use.

The PS3 will be released for 599(good version). At the same time the 360 will lower their prices to 399(good version). When the PS3 comes out, Halo 3 will be on the horizon. And then Nintendo will release the Wii for ~200-250 along with Zelda.

It is my opinion, that in 5 years, any overall dominance Sony had over the market will be gone.

So to get around that whole pesky software emulation, backwards compatibility thing that Microsoft is dealing with with the 360, it looks like Sony is just going to put a PS2 inside the PS3.

Well now $600 is looking like a steal then. You get a PS3 AND a PS2.

shrug, i rarely play my old games once i get new ones. this is untrue for systems a few generations old though, but you can just get an emulator for them. backwards compatibility is really just nice for the first 6mo of the product.

its just all the ps3 junkie homos. i love the 360 and with the updating and online features that microsoft can incoporate, ps3 will never be able to catch up to microsoft's xbox live. im sure one day ill own a ps3 cause i have owned every system, but right now i cant justify $600 when i have my 360 right now.

well since i've had my 360 for like 6-7 months, its definitely given me some of the value back

but one thing is also when Grand Theft Auto 4 drops, it will be on PS3 and 360 both on the same day...no 1 year waiting period from Rockstar-Sony agreement

so aside from Metal Gear and Gran Turismo...I dont know what blockbuster games wouldnt be available on 360

Isn't that what they did with the PS2?

I recall reading that they used the PS1 processor as a loader in the PS2, which was why it had backwards compatibility.

a friend of mine was at e3 this year and played/saw the ps3 and said he was mad he didn't buy a 360 sooner...
