Did anyone catch the part where JIGSAW is covering up the mini-tape that said "play me" with wax at his bedside table.. this left the FOURTH installment to be set up, especially with his daughter still out there.

Also, what's up with the movie posters having the TEETH? There was nothing in there about that?

There are only 3 scenarios I could see them doing for a fourth one

1. Guy from the end of the 3rd has a really complex game ahead of him to save his daughter and that's the whole movie
2. Guy from the end of the 3rd has to sorta become Jigsaw to save his daughter as part of the game
3. A newcomer mimics Jigsaw and tries/does take his place and also includes the guy trying to finish the game to save his daughter.

they still didn't show what happened to dr. gordon...

jigsaw said he set up the whole thing with Jeff by himself.... i can't picture him moving Jeff by himself.... or carrying that fatass judge up the ladder into that tank.

Alright, I've waited an entire weekend to say this...but If you care enough about Saw III you would have already seen it, so shut up about spoilers..

***Spoiler***

When the husband and wife reunite at the end... how the fuck does he not notice that the wife is in some sort of a trap. It was extremely obvious. It's like he was thinking, "OMFG you shot my wife... now I'm gonna listen to jigsaw talk about his philosophy....I'll consider killing you...hmm...ohh hey wife, that's a nice necklace... are those real shot gun shells/ammo? Must be the new fashion... ok thought about, I'm gonna kill you, waste more time that I could be putting towards getting my wife into a hospital,...

There was so much about that movie that pissed me off. Yes, they obviously threw in in the whole wax covered tape player just so they could set up another sequel. How many of those fucking tape players does he have? The cops should have thought about it. Go to stores and ask if anyone buys about 5 of those a day, or maybe bought a 500 value pack..

Where was this tape player again? I think I might have missed it...and who is Dr. Gordon again?...the guy from the end of Saw II?

I liked it, but not as much as Saw I or II. Personally I liked Saw II the best of the three.

^Dr. Gordon
In Saw II right before they get to that room, you can see a dead body on the ground... you COULD assume that is him, but nothing is for sure...

Jigsaw pouring wax on his tape player happens at the end, basically when Amanda is arguing with everyone.

i couldn't tell what he was pouring the wax over... i thought it was a matchbook, but i can see how it was a mini-cassette.

i can't remember in Saw2 if they show a body that we are to believe is dr. gordon. there should be 2 other bodies in the room (adam and the orderly).

if i remember it correctly.... it wasn't in the room, it was outside it, in a hallway.

I wanna say that, at the end of the movie, when the cops son and amanda were being chased by the big guy with a bat, or whatever, thats when they pass a body in the hallway, on the way to the original room.

not 100% sure, just how I remember it..
anyone else seen it more recently?

Hmmm...either they will have flashbacks or these are going to be prequels, because he died at the end of Saw III

im guessing both, i think they will try to keep the current story going a bit.... but I think it's mostly going to be flashbacks.
That's what I guessed right after finishing Saw III.

Flashbacks make more sense, since they kinda killed it off and the story lines was getting weak

question:

spoiler?

When he was bitching at Amanda, saying that none of her subjects were given a chance, he was still providing the voice over, correct? So shouldn't he realize that the traps she was setting up were impossible? Maybe not the convict, but for the police officer, he had to know that a device that was attached to her ribs can't be quickly removed

siiiighhhh

YEAH... he would realize that. That is probably how he realized that. And that is why he tested her again.... the whole idea of the movie.

Had he of never realized what was going on, this movie wouldn't have gone down the way it did.

I'm still trying to figure out how Amanda was able to get that convict guy all chained up and standing while unconscious. No freakin way she could do it alone.

^probably the same way they did a lot of the stuff in the first movie, by getting other "random" people to help with it by making it their game/holding their family captive

Remind me what was written in that letter to Amanda......

The only part I actually thought was a little gross was the pig guts with the lawyer, otherwise I enjoyed it!

^your opinion, which is fine that you think that

but why do you think it sucked? were you comparing it to other saws, to other horror movies, to other slasher films? like what in general sucked?

and don't say predictability, everyone who went to see it already knew the formula for the script, it's obvious, you go to be entertained, not surprised, when you see sequels

nooooo - i REALLY loved Saw1 & 2 & couldn't wait for the 3rd one!

first of all, it was pointless to have all the informative scenes to clue people in to details about the first Saw (most people already guessed such & just assumed the doctor died, adam died, amanda was the pigface person since we learn in Saw2 she was helping him) neither of the first two movies elaborated on unimportant details & that never left any plot holes in the film. it actually benefited the film. (those were supposed to be Saw 3's "twists" & that let me down b/c even for people who didn't assume these things, i don't even care about those little details)

second of all, i felt detective kerry should have had a far more major role in Saw3. she's been in 1 and 2 & it seems fitting that soon it would be time for her "test". i was shocked to see donnie walberg in Saw3 at all & it was pointless he was. you just assume he died, like all the others who we were unsure of being "oficially" dead.

third, wtf is w/ the emotional part, w/ amanda & john, how she had second thoughts about carrying out stuff, etc. who cares? who cares about seeing how the "tests" were set up or how she mercy killed adam, etc.! no shit she was the pigmask person b/c it's pretty clear it wasn't jigsaw or even zep. Saw2 cleared that silly mystery & it didn't need to be elaborated on.

I'd watch every single Saw they make if they simply stick to the premise of the first 2. Just come up w/ great ideas for the new "tests", good reasons for why they are being tested, have multiple twists occur (which have always done well enough to surprise me) and FINALLY LET JOHN DIE. I didn't expect to see him around much in Saw's sequel so i was really shocked that he was a major part of the entire Saw3.

It appears I won't see any more Saw movies. They've forgotten what qualities made the movie so appealing.

[Edited on November 4, 2006 at 5:43 PM. Reason : srry i said "predictability sort of - but just to point that out as one of my griefs]

Ok, long response with *spoilers*

You are never told what was in the letter Amanda was reading, but it obviously completely tore her apart to the point of breaking down.

You are never told what he has on the tape that he covered in wax that said "play me" or who it was for. It also was not the tape he played at the end.

Something's gotta happen with the young girl locked away

Nothing ever came of Walberg's kid that was in the safe...could possibly show up later

Someone mentioned seeing the doctor's body in the hallway. I don't think we ever get a confirmation he died. The body in the hallway may have been Danny Glover (cop killed in first movie)

We are not clear on who exactly the chick was in Jigsaw's flashbacks, but easily creates a plot line for Jigsaw's kid

If you remember, in the 1st movie Jigsaw had already done a series of killings, which is why everyone knew of him. Therefore, Jigsaw: The beginning.

Someone mentioned not knowing why Walberg was in it. I think that was to show that Amanda wasn't really planning her tests out. She left way too much around him when he started, and there was no real lesson to be learned. It was "figure out a way out, or die". Jigsaw always gave you a chance, and a life lesson to learn. She just chained him to a wall and left him to die, but didn't clean up anything around him.

All of the emotional stuff had to be done to show that she never got over her fears and problems. I agree that it took away fromt his movie, but had to be done for the "big twist" which was a waste of time.

It's almost like in the last 10 minutes of the movie they wanted to leave as many holes open as possible for sequles/prequels.

And after all that, I still think the guy in the dark room of numbers with a safe and covered in flammable gel was by far the coolest trap of them all

Also, did they EVER do anything with the pieces of skin he was removing, or was that just a bit in the first movie to give the killer a name, and then drop it completely? Beyond the guy that cut himself up in razor wires trying to get to the exit, I don't recall anyone else having a puzzle piece cut out.
